CoasterJunkie Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 This weekend I was supposed to go to WDW, but do to some events, we had to skip it. So we stuck around in town and checked out the Parade of Homes. It is put on 2x a year here in my county. Basically its a way to show off all the new houses being built and to check out the insides, floorplans, and interior design. Prices ranged from $150's to $800's. Hubby and I went for the more expensive one. There were theater rooms in some, TV's in bathrooms of others. The best of the bunch, wouldnt allow pictures, but had both a theater room and a game room. Here are some of the pics I snapped...Enjoy.. This house starts at $350, and thats without pool or land!! This is the same development..this one is $400!! Wanna go swimming? Love this view, this is what I saw when I went up a SPIRAL staircase..!! Hey does the Viper come with the house...This car belonged to the very RICH builder...This car is housed in a $600,000 house! Check out the dolphin tiles in the pool For the geek in all of us...This is the wiring box..Network in all the rooms. One of the bathrooms even had a phone jack  I will take 2 please!! Most of the houses you had to wear these bootie things...Umm I went bare feet...They were all used..NO THANKS I love the TV...this was the Master Suite. This room was TPR friendly!! The mural was so cool. Look its Spongebob...in the bathroom!! Finally, this house also was TPR friendly. All in all it was nice to see how the "other side" lived. The most expensive house was just amazing. Completely automated from anywhere in the world. The pool area was like a resort. It was just amazing. Thanks for looking.
Hattuchili Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Nice photo TR. The house with the pool was awesome! --Sören "want the Viper" Schomburg

smells_like_team_disney Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 This is the same development..this one is $400!! Wow, this would definitely be a steal in my area. For $400,000 one would be lucky to find something like this in Whittier: Al "that's it, I'm moving to Florida" Gonzalez
ebl Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Those would be $1.5 million here in Camarillo. Eric
CoasterJunkie Posted October 17, 2005 Author Posted October 17, 2005 House prices are on the rise here..A house like this 3yrs ago was about 250,000. But you have to remember taxes are expensive here. But the houses are beautiful!!
QuakerOaties Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 $400,000? For that? Thats a damn good deal!!! Mark "The house next door sold for $400,000 and it was one floor, had no basement, was less than 2000 sq ft and was crappy as all hell" Luskus
SharkTums Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Yeah it's pretty scary how you can get the exact same house in 3 different places for a difference of about 1 Million Bucks!!! I know my parents sold their 11 year old house in Sarasota for about 100K more than they paid! And then bought a smaller house for more than the old one! Crazy housing market!
FlyingScooter Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 (edited) I want this house. It's only 24 million, and sits on 5500 acres of property. http://www.realtor.com/FindHome/HomeListing.asp?snum=1924&locallnk=yes&frm=bymap&mnbed=0&mnbath=0&mnprice=0&mxprice=99999999&js=off&pgnum=193&fid=so&mnsqft=&mls=xmls&areaid=1552&typ=1%2C+2%2C+3%2C+4%2C+5%2C+6%2C+7&poe=realtor&ct=Richmond&st=VA&sbint=&vtsort=&sid=0584B8EE0C3BC&snumxlid=1050464528&lnksrc=00001 realtor . com is fun to check out. Homer Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 A better subtopic name would have to be; "Better homes than yours!" ... Anyways, some of those houses are nice, but the housing market these days is insane.
Guest Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Anyone that lives in SW FL knows that all the rich people live in serious gated plans. Grey Oaks is where Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman lived. Barefoot Beach is where homes start at 1.5-2 million for the house, and who know's how much prime private beach front property costs. Katie
Teddymonster Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 I want this house. It's only 24 million, and sits on 5500 acres of property. Yeah, and it's in Richmond. GTA capital of the U.S. Stay clear of this puppy!
FlyingScooter Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 ^Richmond's that bad? Worse than Detroit? hmmmm, maybe, 12 mil then...
