zongaboy626 Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 has any one seen this? i thought it was one of the best movies ever
Jonathan Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Certainly not one of the best movies ever, but I liked it a lot. I know most people would burn me at the stake for saying this, but I liked it better than Nightmare Before Christmas. Nightmare was more original, though.
Wes Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 I thought it was short, boring, and poorly written.
Teddymonster Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Certainly not one of the best movies ever, but I liked it a lot. I know most people would burn me at the stake for saying this, but I liked it better than Nightmare Before Christmas. Consider this your burning at the stake...you will pay for this claymation blasphemy! Long live the Pumpkin King!!!
zongaboy626 Posted October 17, 2005 Author Posted October 17, 2005 its not claymation its stop frame animation there is a difference
chauncey Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Well, Claymation is stop motion animation with clay puppets, while The Corpse Bride uses foam puppets, so, really, you're just getting technical! After all, Foamation sounds sort of... stupid.
zongaboy626 Posted October 17, 2005 Author Posted October 17, 2005 ohhh damn it i keep trying to fix everything i look like a geek but anywayz this movie is the b o m b bomb i <3 it ethan "its latex and wires" rogers
Rollerholden Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I thought this movie was amazing! I saw it on opening day (it wasn't even sold out...kind of odd I thought). I was sort of comparing it to Nightmare Before Christmas, which was sort of a let down but it was still amazing. Yes, it was just over an hour long but it takes so long to film one minute of it. I think it's definately worth seeing.
Homer Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 If you ask me, this movie was made just to cash in the trend amongst Goth/Emo kids by marketing a new "Nightmare Before Christmas-esque" movie. And I would have to agree with what a member on TN said, its basically Hot Topic: The Movie.
tinkerbell Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Certainly not one of the best movies ever, but I liked it a lot. I know most people would burn me at the stake for saying this, but I liked it better than Nightmare Before Christmas. Consider this your burning at the stake...you will pay for this claymation blasphemy! Long live the Pumpkin King!!! Haha guess that means I'm gonna get burned too. Nightmare wasn't bad, I just couldn't figure out why everyone liked it so much and it became this huge obsession. I thought Corpse Bride was a lot better-maybe not good enough to go run out and spend another $10 to go see it again but good.
Teddymonster Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 ^^I've liked NBC since the first time I saw it in the theatre back in '94. It has only become popular over recent years. If anything, I'd say this is Hot Topic: The Movie. It's always been a favorite of mine and not something I picked up from Blockbuster 2 years ago...
BiCoastal Kid Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 ^Ditto. Except, I got to see it rented when it came out on video.
squirmy_wormy Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 I saw it.. it was a cute flick. I'm going to get it when it comes out on dvd.
J man Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 I thought Corpse Bride was okay. I think the story could have been told without using songs. The musical numbers didn't really do anything for me. I also think that the story seemed much too short. It might have worked out better as a short film. I liked TNBC better.
24 Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 It was an ok movie, almost everyone in it is wierd or deformed.
coasterguy618 Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 It was pretty good. Not one of my favorites though. --Gaven
