ImNotOneOfYou Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 If you saw my previous ThrillCoaster Tours trip reports, you know what to expect, except different pictures from different parks with different captions. In other words, something completely different but with two words in the title being the same. I don't recall doing in depth reviews of roller coasters, so I'll throw in some of those as well. All of this while I try to fit in more Quote of the Week content than my Lakemont Park trip report. Day 1: Six Flags New England The morning begins. As does the driving. Im pretty sure I saw this construction last year. Bridge About two hours into the drive, civilization appears! Who knew you'd find people this far north. The tallest thing in far north Pennsylvania is a tree and here there's a building! Walking to our first destination. Six Flags New England! Walking from the entrance to Superman is quite a work out I like taking pictures of large things. It's a good picture until I got in my own way. If you say 'dots' anywhere near the TCT squad everyone will go crazy. We're here! No paint job will ever beat the vibrancy of Impulse's blue. The operations here make me sad. I got second row... I think. The ending is like a less intense but comfortable Skyrush. This park has a pretty strong trash can game. Another picture of a large thing. More SFNE to come
ImNotOneOfYou Posted August 16, 2016 Author Posted August 16, 2016 part 2 of however many of SFNE Goliath was at the park... More tall thing ...broken, but there. My group wanted to wait for night to come for Pandemonium. Guess what we didn't ride that day. Does anyone ride Sky Screamers for reasons other than the views? I spy my first RMC That's very twisty. I swear this is my picture. Look there's a train now. Rotating 30 degrees makes for a completely new picture. Y'all are gonna have fun once you get to my review of this ride. Flashback was another missed credit but that is never a bad thing. More twisty Another tall thing. It's so twisty Yet another picture of a tall thing. Two boomerangs in a park and we miss both. What is this, Dorney? Houdini was spooky. It's not a roller coaster. Is that a tall thing I see? "But it has a track!" no Should I try to go back for Goliath? Because I know you're asking, my reviews will appear when every picture from the park is posted.
ImNotOneOfYou Posted August 16, 2016 Author Posted August 16, 2016 Part 3 of I think 4 of Six Flags New England A rather large amount of trash cans are lined up along this road. I spy my first SLC. How bad could this be? I can tolerate Mean Streak and Volares perfectly! Maybe the Intamin is a warning. Approaching the station. About to board. NO NEVER AGAIN IT LOOKS SO INNOCENT BUT IT'S NOT! Never again Next up: Batman A B&M after an SLC sounds like a good plan It's very compact. A good roller coaster doesn't mean the operations will be good. It was very enjoyable If I say it's my favorite in the park will I get lynched? So twisty Sadly, we had to walk past that A credit is a credit It's like Millennium Force except for everything other than the first hill. Wild Mouse coasters have low capacities outside of Dorney! I took a lot of pictures here. Just SFNE is about a fifth of my total.
ImNotOneOfYou Posted August 21, 2016 Author Posted August 21, 2016 I was gone for another few days but the show must go on! More big thing. Wild mice are rather enjoyable I'll say this is equal to Millennium Force so I can retain my life. Guys look at this original picture Yet another picture of a big thing. Twistyyyy It's a thing and it's big so click click i take picture. Here's a Thunderbolt I think that says Thunderbolt From the carousel We had time and it was here so why not? If I ride on a horse and again in a chariot how many credits is it? After all this time we finally ride the big thing I don't even know what it's called Goliath in its still broken glory We were going to ride Pandemonium but Wicked Cyclone is a thing and it's nearby
ImNotOneOfYou Posted August 21, 2016 Author Posted August 21, 2016 I forget if we rode this at night or not. Wicked Cyclone again but this time at night It's twisty Guys look at this original picture. It's night so it's completely new. Skyscreamer at night It's running so its a completely new picture Passing the missed credit Another missed credit but from what I've heard I shouldn't care so I don't We got last train on Superman And so the SFNE pictures end. And now the pictures are done so here's my reviews. Superman: I didn't get to try it with VR, but it was fine without it. My first ride was in the first row of the second car, and the second was somewhere near the back. The airtime was excellent both times. It definitely makes my top 10, probably in the lower 5. Wicked Cyclone: I was rather excited to get on my first RMC. The reviews I've heard fall just short of RMC curing cancer. I'll take the risk of getting lynched and say I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. I wasn't disappointed, just slightly underwhelmed. Mind Eraser: Never again Batman: I was very impressed with this ride. I'm not sure if anyone ever says it's rattly, but I'll say that it was not at all rattly. It was intense throughout the whole ride. All of that on a track roughly the same length as Top Thrill Dragster. Catwoman's Whip: Better than Mind Eraser. Gotham City Gauntlet: It's a wild mouse. I don't know of any good things to say other than it's better than Mind Eraser, but so is Green Lantern at SFGAdv. Yes it's that bad Thunderbolt: For a 75 year old roller coaster, Thunderbolt wasn't bad at all. I remember 75 years because the park put signs up everywhere. I would have used coasterbill's advice and taken front row, but the operations at the park are weird so I settled for a middle row, something I also learned from coasterbill. My overall opinion of the park is mixed. The rides were good and the park had a nice atmosphere. However, the operations aren't the best. It's like the park didn't want to assign seats but still wanted to make operations memorable for being bad. If there wasn't a Knoebels or SFGAdv closer to me, I'd go back any day. Up next: Lake Compounce
ImNotOneOfYou Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 And so Lake Compounce begins If you want this group to go crazy just yell 'overpass' I forget what city this is I wonder where we are. Phobia Phear Phoaster They have a list of phobias all around the queue and surrounding area It was good, but not the highlight of the park Is that a boulder dash I see? I just realized I have a picture of a tree Is that a tall thing I see!?!?! It is!!! I think they were running just one train In the station For the viewers that... enjoy... these pictures Eevveenn cclloosseerr And back to Phobia Phear Phoaster We planned to ride the carousel but didn't have time There's a long walk to the rapids and sky ride Good thing there's a train Walking back after the rapids. My phone was too moist for more pictures Tall thing! Wildcat wasn't the best of rides
ImNotOneOfYou Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 And just like that here's the final pictures from Lake Compounce In for another ride on Boulder Dash This thread is lonely Boulder Dash is like Beast but with faster pacing and a very painful ending. Anyone there I felt obligated to take a picture of every Dippin' Dots stand I saw Is anyone here Aaand the flyers. #1 ride in the park anyone I snapped on the flyers but is anyone reading this thread to know? I think this was in line for the spinning ride down below A pirate ship ride with very little airtime. Nothing happens on this ride. It goes up and down, but nothing else noteworthy Phore Phobia Phear Phoaster then there's Wildcat Leaving the park and we encounter an overpass Temporarily leaving the park And we're back in the park It's getting dark We originally planned to end on Boulder Dash But I was in pain so I ended on Downtime I think that's what the drop tower is called I'd definitely come back here Review time Boulder Dash: I don't exactly agree with the Golden Ticket Awards. Phoenix was voted lower than this. I say the GTA is rigged. Boulder Dash was a great ride until the double up near the end kills any fun you would have been having. I tried to brace myself and I rode in many spots all over the train. If the double up was given the ax then I'd love this ride. Skyliner at Lakemont Park could use a double up. Phobia Phear Coaster: Too many ph's. Other than the name, it was an excellent ride. More enjoyable than Tenpasta. There's definitely a difference between the lap bars and whatever BGW calls the over the shoulder restraints. Flyers: I snapped on them. I am so proud of myself. I'm even more proud that Lake Compounce will teach you how to snap. On my very first ride, I was going up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and BAM I snapped. It was so amazing if you snapped on these and got an erection I wouldn't blame you. Best ride in the park easily. Wildcat: I've been on worse. I didn't get front seat but I did get second row which is a middle row. There's a turn with little to no banking after the first turnaround that's bad in non wheel seats and kills the erection you got from the flyers in wheel seats. Yes I rode Wildcat multiple times. I forget what park is next so keep watching this thread to find out. somebody please
grsupercity Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Nice pictures and trip report. Your captions make me laugh
coasterbill Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Great report so far. Did you ride the chairlift at Lake Compounce? If not you missed out.
ImNotOneOfYou Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 Great report so far. Did you ride the chairlift at Lake Compounce? If not you missed out. We were going to but then they told us it was closed for I think weather.
ImNotOneOfYou Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 And so Canada's Wonderland begins. After Lake Compounce, there were two days where we didn't go to any parks. On the first day, we crossed the border into Canada and spent the day in Niagara Falls. For some reason, rivers going over a cliff attracts a lot of people, so we saw some falling water. On the second day, we drove to Toronto and saw a Blue Jays game. Since I only agreed to roller coasters, I'll pretend those days never happened and move on to Canada's Wonderland. If enough people want to see a non-coaster trip report, I might make one. Here's proof I was in the city What's this? It's Leviathan! After this I would have ridden every North American giga coaster Anyone wanna take me to Japan for Steel Dragon 2000? Oh yeah we had a backstage tour of WMG and Leviathan I feel as if I have become one with the coaster and I think that's what CW wants to happen Train closeup Train closeup So many people took pictures of themselves inside of the track Look! A curve! I don't think he was pointing at the turn Then we got to ride it I see a Windseeker Walking over to Leviathan It's like Fury 325 but 20 feet smaller and no yellow Closeup of the brake run I think this is a restricted area But we were allowed in #whatsintheshed Dragon Fire looks so small If it moves I'll take a picture of it It would be a tall thing but Leviathan is right there.
coasterbill Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 We did the Wonderland / Niagara Falls / Toronto / CN Tower / Blue jays game thing last year and loved every second of it. Did you do the Maid of the Mist or Hornblower boat ride? That's absolutely stunning. Also, next time you're in Toronto I recommend the CN Tower Edge Walk. That's an awesome yet terrifying experience.
ImNotOneOfYou Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 We did the Wonderland / Niagara Falls / Toronto / CN Tower / Blue jays game thing last year and loved every second of it. Did you do the Maid of the Mist or Hornblower boat ride? That's absolutely stunning. Also, next time you're in Toronto I recommend the CN Tower Edge Walk. That's an awesome yet terrifying experience. We did Maid of the Mist on the first day and I tried to take the poncho as a free souvenir but I was "strongly advised" not to. At about 11 at night, we walked about a mile from our hotel to Niagara Falls. We passed Martin's Fantasy Island and saw the S&S tower of Marineland. I felt superior being the only one in the group that knew Marineland was a thing
coasterbill Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Marineland is the strangest park I've ever been to but I actually really enjoyed the place. Dragon Mountain is awesome simply for how weird it is, the drop tower is the best S&S tower in existence due to the location and view of the falls (though it requires a ridiculous hike in the sun to reach it) and you can feed and pet a Beluga for like 8 bucks. It's a screwed up park with an owner who's evidently insane but I'd recommend it to anyone.
ImNotOneOfYou Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 We didn't get to go to Marineland but we did go to Canada's Wonderland and HERE ARE MORE PICTURES TO PROVE THAT WE DID! We planned to get WMG and Leviathan before the park opened but the Leviathan tour took too long The line was still rather short "It was 26 degrees in Canada" Just wait for me to compare this to Fury In line for Bat We didn't ride it because the line was long and we had somewhere to be I wanted to get Windseeker but we skipped it Skyhawk had a short line Behemoth! Leviathan and Behemoth have very nice entrance areas. French! I dont know about you, but a splashdown could probably go there Kings Island probably stole it with Diamondback I insisted on riding the funky row on the first car but the other people I was with chose the front. Lighting change! Backlot! Stunt Coaster! This park has a huge flat ride collection. Payphone with a keyboard! Maybe Mind Eraser was just a bad ride because Six Flags Or could it have been a warning? People are waiting so it must be a good ride! I swear this cliffhanger was unintentional...
ImNotOneOfYou Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 Canada's Wonderland! Canada's Wonderland! Canada's Wonderland! Canada's Wonderland! CANADA'S WONDERLAND! Was it bad? Was it good? THE FIRST ONE. THE FIRST ONE. IT WAS VERY BAD. STAY OFF SLCS And here we find a Zamperla Volare Soarin' Eagle at Coney Island wasn't bad at all. Could this be better? No, it can't. It wasn't that bad, but Soarin' Eagle is more human friendly Around this time we saw someone going crazy on Skyhawk. I managed to get 6 flips and i think the highest of that cycle was 9 I believe this is Minebuster Missed Windseeker credit So I was in line for the second row but the person I rode with decided to trade places with the people in the 3rd row The third row is a wheel seat Wheel seats are a no no Those waterfalls provide air conditioning for the entire park, including the offices! A park worker said that during the WMG tour Temporarily leaving the park We have a tendency to have lunch in the park and dinner somewhere else Hugging a support beam as a train goes by is a very underrated experience All B&Ms are extremely photogenic What's that I see? Is this a Canada thing If I recall correctly, I hugged the support beam to the left of the largest one. I'm not sure if I like the mountain or the eiffel towers better The mountain can fit more than an observation deck
DirkFunk Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Kings Island probably stole it with Diamondback Suggestion: Start authoritatively claiming this. Do it enough and it becomes true, like "Leviathan was intended for Knotts and switched at the last minute!" Who is to say that it isn't a fact? Facts are whatever you believe, man. The chinaman is not the issue. Is this a Canada thing They're a Michigan company. Actually really surprised to see them in Canada. The mountain can fit more than an observation deck The mountain can and has fit rides and attractions. The Eiffel Towers can't. Also - projection show at night. Mountain wins in a landslide. SUCK IT HATERS.
PKI Jizzman Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Holy crap these "ThrillCoaster Tours" are for teens only. Dear lord...imagine a group of Henry M's and MadMax's descending upon your park.

The chinaman is not the issue. The thing is that some people will think I'm serious. Someone pointed out that Hydra wasn't in the concept art for Dorney Park's 2017 addition and I think one person believed Hydra was going. Holy crap these "ThrillCoaster Tours" are for teens only. Dear lord...imagine a group of Henry M's and MadMax's descending upon your park. I would confirm or deny that claim but there's always a chance of someone from the group reading this.
ImNotOneOfYou Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 Last Canada's Wonderland pictures Dragon Fire! They should add a kiddie coaster with a lift hill perpendicular to Dragon Fire's What park would steal a kiddie coaster? Why did I take this picture Dragon Fire was rather enjoyable Wild Beast time I'm intrigued by the thought that other people don't do things the same way we do it in America Sunset picture because there's a sunset and I can take pictures Finally getting on the Bat The only rerides we got were Skyhawk, Sledgehammer and Behemoth I wanted to ride Leviathan again but my group said no And so Canada's Wonderland ends I wonder what I would add now Wonder Mountain's Guardian: It was definitely an interesting ride. I would have enjoyed it more if there was more roller coaster parts. I had the highest score of the train, so I'm satisfied Leviathan: I didn't expect to like Leviathan as much as I did. I was a bit underwhelmed by Fury 325 I'm gonna get lynched and the popular opinion on this website seems to be Fury is a bigger, better Leviathan. The drop is very similar on the two rides, but after that they are different. I rode in the back, and the airtime on every spot designed for airtime was very enjoyable. I'm not sure if the trims were turned off or not, but they were much less noticeable than the trim brake on Fury. I'll get lynched and come out and say that I liked Leviathan more than Fury. Skyhawk: My only problem is the short ride cycle. Right as I got going, the ride began going down. When I rode it again at night, I couldn't get any complete flips. If Dorney got one of these "if" I would go on and off until I mastered the flipping, then keep riding because it's a fun ride. Behemoth: I was expecting a ride like Diamondback or Intimidator, one good airtime moment and the rest being rather forceless. I don't know if it was the funky row, but I really enjoyed Behemoth. The trims were barely noticeable and the airtime was there on each hill. Probably my favorite B&M hyper coaster. Backlot Stunt Coaster: This one was a bit of a disappointment. It didn't stop at all where the fire would be, and it felt more empty than the ones at Kings Island and Kings Dominion. Sledgehammer: I was very impressed by this flat ride. The only takeaway for me was that the restraints weren't the most man friendly. The park has a very good amount of flat rides. However, my group only made it on this one and Skyhawk Flight Deck: No Time Warp: I had a good ride on the Volare at Coney Island, but this one wasn't as smooth. The one at Coney Island was very smooth, but jerked me around. This one was just as jerky and not as smooth. If there isn't a line, I would maybe do it again probably. Mighty Canadian Minebuster: I could sense that the ride would have been good if I didn't ride in a wheel seat. I would have been in a middle row, but the person I rode with enjoys putting people in pain. Vortex: If anyone with a stellar memory cared to read my trip report from last year, you would know that Iron Dragon had a cult following. That was an understatement. Iron Dragon was our equivalent of Skull Mountain, but more. With that being said, inevitably, I would compare Vortex to Iron Dragon. The two rides have their high points and low points. Vortex is faster and more intense than Iron Dragon, but I found it to be a little rough. Thunder Run: It's a credit Wild Beast: I forget if the cars were 4 or 6 seaters but I remember having an enjoyable ride on this. Not as good as normal Beast, but very few rides are as good as Beast. It was smooth for a 30+ year old woodie. Bat: It was a boomerang. Not much else I can say about it. Overall, I enjoyed this park a lot. It easily makes my top 5 parks, and I would say it's my 3rd favorite Cedar Fair park behind Cedar Point and Kings Island. The operations were excellent, even on the lower capacity rides. Last year, I wanted to ride the Windseeker at Cedar Point, and I ended up riding every other Windseeker I encountered. This year, I made it on the CP Windseeker but missed this one . If I could find a place to live strategically placed between Cedar Point and Canada's Wonderland, I would be set for life. (Knoebels would be farther away, though) Up next: A certain park in Pennsylvania (not the one you're thinking of, coasterbill)
coasterbill Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Lol we don't agree on much of anything. Great report though.
ImNotOneOfYou Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 Lol we don't agree on much of anything. Great report though. This website is no place for differing opinions
XII Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Nice Photo TR. I know I did a trip with ThrillCoaster Tours nearly a decade ago and had a ton of fun on it. I know they didn't have backstage tours when I was on the trip. So that's definitely good to see. Also, I'm amazed you found Wild Beast tolerable. That things was f*cking brutal and terrible for me. One of the worst wooden coasters I've ridden and the worst in North America. But hey, if you like it, great. Someone's gotta ride it. Looking foreword to seeing the rest of the trip report.
