If you do go to Lakemont, try to get on the Toboggan ride-there's not many of them left(ex:Conneaut's is SBNO).

It's both at Lakemont Park and a Toboggan roller coaster. Two negatives making a positive?

It could be worse:there's a Chinese version of the Toboggan with a loop that's been called things like "The Toboggan Of Death" !

If it's that bad it will put you in the hospital. There are some benefits to that, as I did some research and found no hospitals within Lakemont Park.

Lakemont looks like it is on the verge of closing. Lots of rare rides but no idea how to advertise that to anyone. No budget to, probably.

RCDB says that Conneaut Lake Park had a few years where it didn't open for the season. Somehow Lakemont Park managed to stay open every year except 1936. The park is in such a horrible state they never opened anything new on an anniversary.

It may be receiving funding from the local government. Like I said, if it closes, I wouldn't be shocked at all.

There are quite a few very solid flat rides at Lakemont Park, and Skyliner is great and Leap the Dips (which I didn't get to ride) is unique because it's the oldest operating coaster. The way the park is run is just horrible, though! This year Leap the Dips, which is their main attraction, was shut down for almost half the season. And so many of their rides are always closed. Leap the Dips and Skyliner, along with some flat rides should be sold off (maybe to Delgrosso's!) and the park should just be put down.

I hate to say this, but I believe that Lakemont Park may be on it's last legs. It didn't feel that way on my last visit there a few years ago, but I believe they could add a new ride or two, such as a dark ride or a family coaster, to draw enough of a crowd to keep them in business. Plus, they could benefit with adding something to their water park section, because that whole area is starting to become a joke with a stale punchline.

Only go there to get the Toboggan and Leaps the Dips credit.

As for Delgrosso's, they should also add another roller coaster and a dark ride.

With all of the revenue from the last 10 years the most exciting thing they could add is the world's first dueling wacky worm without the second track. They could lie announce that the park will close and have people in the tens come to the park and get enough money to buy another game for their arcade.

Delgrosso's is growing steadily. In the time between my first and second visit, they've added a very good flat ride and a huge water park expansion. I see more flat rides coming to the park, but probably not a decent sized roller coaster, even for next year (the park's 110th anniversary.)

From my understanding, this park is somewhat supplemented by the state government or even federal, is that true? I thought it was based on Leap The Dips being historic, the presence of public athletic facilities, and the fact that they have free community days. Plus I honestly don't think this park would still be in operation without special funding and tax exemptions.

I enjoyed the park and think it deserves any help it gets to stay in operation.

I've heard things like this as well and I imagine it must be the case for exactly the same reasons. I can tell you affirmatively that the NPO that funded Leap the Dips was dissolved years ago. Might have been nice for the coaster preservation guys to say something about that, but they were too busy ironing their Men's Daisy Dukes, probably.

No, but if I remember correctly from visiting last year there is a attorney's office out front.

You'll need the hospital first, and I'm sure there are many more attorney offices scattered around the state.

None of this would be necessary if you went to Knoebels.

Lakemont's Christmas attraction does really well (we waited for an hour right at closing last year) and is very well done. Their pool is also usually busy during the summer. Those two things should keep the park going for a bit, in any case.

With the exception of last December, winter in Pennsylvania is too cold for me to do anything other than complain about the cold.

That sounds boring. Come to Great Adventure in ride Nitro at night in January like the rest of us. Live a little.

I'm in

I was at Great Adventure in early December when the weather was still tolerable. I reached my record for the most consecutive rides on a roller coaster with 4 on Nitro
