Henry M
I was in the Isle of Wight recently and I visited a donkey Sanctury. Most of these donkeys would be dead if the charity did not save them. Some are orphans as well. I visited on a typical English day, grey cold and windy. This meant all the donkeys huddled together to keep warm. It was not because they were kept in small enclosures. Enjoy! Good bye Yay, I am here! Big fields on a grey day. Beings greeted in by donkeys. Noted! A map which makes no sense as iris completely out of proportion. As you may be able to guess, there will be a lot of Donkeys on this TR. One of my favourites. This one was friendly and came up to me. It was like the nativity scene, just with Donkeys! Crowded together to keep warm. This ones ears were HUGE! The picture only half shows it up. Sorry. I am not allowed to feed you. I said no, but I will strike you. There was an inside section where the more ill donkeys were kept. These two were together in their shed. They were so cute. More of the elderly donkeys In the donkey Sanctury, you can stay warm like this... Or like this! Did I mention you don't have to pay to get in but you can donate and sponsor the donkeys. GCI Wooden
Robb, this should be added to the list of standard donkey titles! This is actually one of my favorite photo trip reports I've read in a while, thank you for posting.

TBpony414
I had no idea there was such a place! Real life donkeys are awesome and a sanctuary that houses them deserves a round of applause. They all look in good condition with appropriate stalls/turnout/sacrifice areas. WTG and if I'm ever in that area of the world I am absolutely going to see the donks! KarlaKoaster
Considering this forum is 'Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!', there has been a distinct lack of donkey, so thank you for redressing the balance

Henry M
Part 2 The squeal: REVENGE OF THE DONKEY!!!! Well, I have once again visited the mystical and magical British island called the Isle of Wight, for some reason. If you are ever credit hunting in this neck of the woods, there are two to be found. However, just before my coaster addiction was about to be satisfied, I fell victim to the evil clutches of the donkeys, at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary . That's right ... The Sanctuary ... Spooky . To help the donkeys with their sadistic schemes to take over the world, they have struck an allegiance with another species, more of that to come. See the pictures, for the rest of the story. Will I ever escape??? Upon being taken hostage, I witnesses the violent goings on behind the walls of ... THE SANCTUARY. This one was my torturer. Behind you can see the interrogation shed, where I was mercilessly dragged. It is a difficult job trying to take over the world. I saw many donkeys running around in order to attend meetings. "Tell me, who sent you here" "Umm, well, you kind of dragged me here opposite to my will, so I guess you did" "Hmm, an interesting story..." You see those hills over there? Yeah, well that are Donkey territory now. NEVER look directly into a donkeys eyes. It is a threat. A senior donkey, of a high rank approached me. look at the evil in those eyes. OH MY DONKEY!!!! They have persuaded the horses to join them in battle! This one was the leader of the horse section, you would be amazed at how organised the whole system is. At this point I thought "DAMN, this is when I need Tesco's number". They graze off the earth. The two vice presidents paraded through. I was forced to bow down to them. See in the background, there are two more human being kept hostage. They write their messages into the grass, so other donkeys can see what they are saying, without making a noise. After a long study, I figured out he was writing "KILL KILL KILL". Simple but effective messages. Another horse was saying something about sheep, and the next stage. What could that mean? I was bagged from behind then, and this became my view through two holes in it. I was thrown into the prison field, with other donkey and human rebels. After they figured I was no longer I threat, they freed me, under the circumstances that I will not take any more photos. BUT THE TRUTH MUST GET OUT. They have started a new program where they are raising baby horses, and training them from such a small age. Beware, this horse was already trained in three different types of donkey martial arts. Where is Tesco when you need them? An older horse, being indoctrinated to the donkey regime. Ah. That must be what the message in the grass meant. The sheep are going to be the next stage of the donkey rebellion. I must warn them! Don't look at it in the eye. Don't look at it in the eye. Don't look at it in the eye. Don't look at it in the eye. Don't take pictures. Don't take pictures. This was a big gathering. Don't look at it in the eye. Don't look at it in the eye. S**t. I was caught and bagged again! My last view before they truly blindfolded me. Next thing I know, I wake, face to face with the leader. I don't want to recount what happened next. But it had to do with this guy. And her. I don't know how many days later, but eventually the ordeal ended. And by that point, more donkeys had joined the fight, and the messages in the grass were becoming more and more unsettling. They wanted me to join, but I said no. Official meeting sheds DONKEY! Day by day, more islanders were being taken. It was brutal. This is where my escape plan came into action. These two (who were meant to be keeping me held hostage) where in deep philosophical conversation at to if what they were doing is morally right. Mandatory hostage selfie. My plan was simply to jump the fence and run. It worked! I was free! Or so I thought... The message "see you again soon" was not a request, it was a statement as to what will happen. Free entry, no escape. Part 3, coming soon.
Henry M
As mentioned before, this is not supposed to be in the Random forum, as this forum is called theme parks rollercoasters and donkeys. It is for this reason it is not in the random thread. On another note, the work they do is actually really good, and you can donate or adopt to help them. This is not advertising, but here is a link if you love donkeys and want to donate: http://www.iowdonkeysanctuary.org/how-to-donate/
