Nrthwnd Posted October 26, 2005 Author Posted October 26, 2005 Report from Amsterdam today - I just found out where Dungeons of Amsterdam is located in this city of sex, (inhale) sex, (exhale)and .... well, you know....um, yeah? Am going to take it in on (my) Friday, as i just checked out where I could find it, etc. Add to that a Carnival that's currently set up in on eof the main plazas off Damrak (main Am'dam street), which includes a "Ghoster Coaster." Hmmm. Will try that out on Friday as well as DofA. And take a few pix as well.
Mind Eraser Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 "Amsterdam Dungeon" - that just screams S&M club. Had I known better, I would have walked in expecting to see men in leather chaps with whips. -kip- (who spent one night in Amsterdam, but was not feeling well, so just watched boobies on TV all night )
BiCoastal Kid Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 ^That implies that you would willingly walk to into a leather-sex club.
Jeezus Juice Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Sweet! I just added Amsterdam onto my Euro trip for next year. I hope those "Learn to speak german" tapes I got pay off!

Nrthwnd Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 Well now it's Thursday here in Am'dam. I found the Amsterdam Dungeon, walked around the entire block of it. Looks impressively deceptive. If there's a coaster in that thing - no sign of it. I found that the price changed - from 14.50 Euros which I guess is their online pre-order ticket price --- to 17.50 Euros. Ah well, only live once, yes, hmm? And it's got a coaster in it, etc. etc. Hmmm. I'm going to wait until beginning of next week, to go into it. ~~~
Hattuchili Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 ^ Hey Bill, I hope you will post some pictures, when your are save back at home! --Sören
Nrthwnd Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 ^ I will do my best, Soren. Plan to post in a separate thread, of course. ^ We are in a nice streak of 21'+ weather here in Am'dam. So of course, my system reacts -- and I sweated a bit, hee hee. Think I've climatized now. I hope. We all hope, lol. This is my first big out-of-the-country on-my-own trip since.... 1997? Yeah, yeah, tell me. Anyway, things have and haven't been going as well as I would hope they did/didn't. That said, am going to get a few pix of the Instant Carnival that wedged itself literally into a Main Plaza here, complete with a HUGE omg ferris wheel, couple of flats and The Ghoster Coasterrrrrrr. Patience, mere mortals. The time will approach, all things Evil And all. Remember, Monday is Halloween. Boo.
CoasterCrazy88 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 That's really cool. I would really like to ride a Mack E-motion Coaster. They look like alot of fun.
Nrthwnd Posted November 2, 2005 Author Posted November 2, 2005 Okay - the Dungoen has been visited and the Demon Drop has been ... well, dropped! More news on this when I get back from Amsterdam on Thusday, but in the mean time a look back at the old work pix gives me (and you) a better idea of what's there... and not. Soon, soon.
Shockwave Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Can't wait to see the pics. I'm really considering adding this to my big trip around Europe next year!
kevinus Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 I hope those "Learn to speak german" tapes I got pay off! Well, they probably won't pay off caus in the Netherlands we do NOT speak german...(I hate it when people think that Netherland is a part of Germany or something like that) Maybe you should try and learn Dutch instead!!! On the other hand: The Amsterdam Dungeon is supposed to be a learning event I guesse, so I don't expect to much of it. The coaster will probably be not to much of a thrill....
krouvi Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Can't wait to see the pics. I'm really considering adding this to my big trip around Europe next year! You MUST be in Amsterdam this is the coolest city in Europe - I love this city so much - the food, the people, the boats, the drugs, the sex the clubs everything is perfect. Dont skip that city - you gonna love it
Nrthwnd Posted May 7, 2006 Author Posted May 7, 2006 Well now that The Demon Drop has been 'running' for several months now (since I was there, after it had just opened) there should be a lot more "cleaned up" around the entranceway into the coaster section of the Dungeons. For my visit, there were a lot of boarded walls that definitely needed themeing and I was hoping that eventually, they'd get it. And the little coaster was a kick, altho No Big Thrill Machine as some might expect. But different, especially when you know it's all contained in the main rotunda building of a former church, heh heh. I hope that's the case (more stuff cleaned up) when anybody else goes there now. I won't be back until Spring of next year. So I'm hoping the "shakedown cruise" (i.e.first year+) of this attraction has gone well, and would only improve by the time we arrive for another visit.
