tarheel1231 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Wow! Two expansions in a row! Nice to see the park focusing on family attractions this year.
JonnyRCT3 Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Oh! Another big expansion, this time with family flats. Love the names and theme you went with, instead of the typical Looney Tunes. I think this will do wonders for the park in the long run.
Atter Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 September 8th, 2002 Â So I was there the day of the announcement at the park, so here's the pictures I took of that. This is just a quick update form the park! Â The park held the live announcement near Wilderness Adventure, the sign read "Big Barn Fields, Coming 2003!" I rode Grizzly first! Lift Hill POV! Taken from Grizzly, after the first drop. Grizzly's brake run. I didn't take too many pictures in the day, so here is a nighttime shot of Gotham City Crime Wave! Gotham City Park at night! What a wonderful park! Â That was the last day of the season, see you next year, Six Flags Wild Northwest. -Josh Himmer
tarheel1231 Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I can't wait to see the park with the expansion!
Atter Posted August 19, 2014 Author Posted August 19, 2014 (edited) May 25th, 2003 Â I'm so glad it is summer once agin at SFWN! I wasn't able to get there until after school, sense the park opened earlier then usual this season. May 25th to be exact. Anyway, I basically spent the day in Big Barn Fields, it is such a nice section of the park. It has a cool atmosphere. On to the photos! Â This was a shot from this morning that my friend took, he ditched school today to come here. I got to the park at around 7:00PM. It closed at 9:00PM. I wish I was here earlier, Big Barn Fields was packed! Here's what the new area looks like. The wait times exceeded 45 minutes! Look at all those people! I still ended up enjoying the new expansion! Rodent Rampage was super fun! It was a great addition and looks like it was successful based on all the families at the park! Â I'm not sure when I'll be at the park again, it might be awhile. I'll make sure to visit it again soon! -Josh Himmer Edited August 19, 2014 by Atter
JonnyRCT3 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 (edited) Well, this was a very unique choice. I like it. Rodent Rampage looks awesome with its custom supports . Also, with BBF being this big of a crowd draw, I think we know what the park's market is. Edited August 19, 2014 by JonnyRCT3
Atter Posted August 19, 2014 Author Posted August 19, 2014 June 3rd, 2003 Â Six Flags Wild Northwest is the most successful park in the chain!-June 3rd, 2003 Our local park, Six Flags Wild Northwest, is said to be the park that is brining in the most amount of money and has the highest attendance boost! The park recently opened up their new Big Barn Fields expansion and the park manager, Peter Butler, has already said they are already preparing for next year! Six Flags Wild Northwest opened in 1999 and Peter Butler wanted to mention that 2004 will be the park's 5th anniversary. "I'm a huge fan of anniversaries! I always love to make a big deal about them!" said Peter Butler. In other news, the nearby picnic grove has closed down and we asked if that land would be utilized in the future and are waiting for a response from either the PR manager, Logan Winton or the Park Manager, Peter Butler. -The Oregonian. June 3rd, 2003 Â I just had to share this article I found. It is so exciting that my home park is one of the best Six Flags parks out there! -Josh Himmer
JonnyRCT3 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Hmm. It seems another big ride is on the way. Although, with talk of next years addition starting so early, I do worry this thread will become more about teasers than the actual park.
Atter Posted August 19, 2014 Author Posted August 19, 2014 ^ Don't worry, it won't. I was really trying to make a point about the success of the park.I just sort of mention the anniversary thing as a small teaser. I have like 3 or 4 trip reports showing off the park planned out and with school starting soon, they will be pretty spread out. The next update will have photos of the park. Actually, I have some POVs planned as well!
OrlandoGuy Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I like your park a lot...your use of CS compliments the park rather than look tacky. The layout also seems realistic, something that often gets overlooked when working so hard on rides/scenery. Love the updates!
Atter Posted August 20, 2014 Author Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) July 4th, 2003  Today was July 4th and I decided to head out to Six Flags Wild Northwest! I was expecting crowds and I was right! The park had to direct cars to park at a nearby shopping center! They did offer a shuttle service, thankfully. It looks like the park was prepared for the crowds since they had a section reserved for park guests at the shopping center and had employees directing traffic. People had to go to the ticket booth and obtain a special ticket to prove they've payed and turn around and head to the extra parking area. I'm basically trying to say it was packed!  I love driving up to the park and seeing this view! Yeah, this place was packed, but I still decided to wait it out for Rodent Rampage. This shot was taken while I was waiting in line. Not only was Big Barn Fields crowded, but so was the original family area, Wilderness Adventure! For some reason I wanted to ride Beaver Express. I've only ridden it once since I've been visiting the park. A cool view from Thunderstorm. This ride is my favorite place to take awesome pictures! I didn't ride Steel Hawk because the wait time was over 90 minutes! I went to eat at Arkham Café. I was enjoying the view I had from my table! My parents thought it was distracting. They just don't understand the point of roller coaster. I always forget how close Gotham City is to the Willamette National Forest. It's a nice view! I wonder what will be done with this area. Wait, what's that? What? Footers have been poured! Wow! I wasn't excepting to see this today! There's not much else here, so we'll have to wait and see!  The park hasn't been teasing anything, so maybe they want it to be kept a secret. Also, it is only July and they are starting construction already. It must be pretty big if they are starting this early! -Josh Himmer Edited August 21, 2014 by Atter
GCI Wooden Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Wow, that is huge! This is going to be great, It's either a coaster or several flat rides, I'll definitely be checking for an announcement, any idea on when that would be?
DarienLaker Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 (edited) A Tony Hawk's Big Spin coaster? Edited August 21, 2014 by DarienLaker
Atter Posted August 21, 2014 Author Posted August 21, 2014 I'll have a full photo update later today, but for now I wanted to post this small update. -Atter ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- July 28th, 2003 Â Â The park posted this on their website! Â 2004 Teaser! Â I recently visited the park on July 26th, so I will post that trip report later! -Josh Himmer
YoshiCraft2011 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 It's nice to see how much the park has grown! So many things were added in just a few years. While this is great for guests, I'm wondering about the finances...
Atter Posted August 22, 2014 Author Posted August 22, 2014 (edited) August 22nd, 2003 Â So, it has been almost a month since I last was at the park and I still haven't posted that trip report from that visit. I've been busy with my part-time job at McDonalds. I finally got around to doing it, so here it is! Â Wave Swinger is very popular with the families! It always has long lines. The same thing goes for the Northwest Wheel! It's nice to just walk around Main Street Square! I tried getting this cool shot shot of Steel Hawk while waiting in line. Oh, the park released this aerial shot of Big Barn Fields. It looks great from up in the sky. These last two pictures were by a friend you visited 3 days ago, he was on Thunderstorm when he took this one. He also took this at night, it looks like the construction was being done at night. It's Probably because they don't want disturb the guests during the day. Â I always enjoy coming to this park. I never have any problems with it! Oh, and it looks like I will be moving again. It's very sad, but I'm moving to Chicago, so I will be visiting Six Flags Great America just as much as this one! -Josh Himmer. Edited August 23, 2014 by Atter
RollingCoasting Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 If it's a B&M, I'm guessing it's either a Stand-Up Coaster or Flying Coaster, because: Â - The Park all ready has a Floorless Coaster - Six Flags doesn't do B&M Sit-Downs or B&M Dive Machines (Unless he wants too) - The Park just got rid of an SLC, so I don't think they'd get an Invert - The Plot of land looks right for a Stand-Up Coaster - Six Flags was adding the S:UF around this time, which would make a B&M Flyer reasonable
Atter Posted August 22, 2014 Author Posted August 22, 2014 The park's website has been updated! Click here!
Atter Posted August 23, 2014 Author Posted August 23, 2014 (edited) August 23rd, 2003 Â Peter Butler has released this statement! Â The time is near for us to make a huge announcement! All we can say is in 4 days, you'll be screaming! This ride is part of our three year, multi-million dollar investment to this park, so we can make this not just a park for the locals, but a destination for people all across the region to enjoy! This park has spent a lot of money in these three years, but it was all planned out. This was always the plane since the beginning. We wanted to add a medium sized roller coaster, a family section, and finally, something very large! You could say it's gigantic, I suppose! This is the final step into making Six Flags Wild Northwest the #1 theme park in the Northwest! I'm glad to be apart of the team who helped make this all happen. I'll leave you guys with one hint. "This one might be the biggest we've ever seen!" Edited August 25, 2014 by Atter
