_koppen
^Fair enough. I haven't been watching the waterpark industry closely lately, but dang that's a lot of convergence really quick. It would be so frustrating for me to work in this industry since any great idea I came up with would instantly be replicated by every competitor. I guess slide technology just isn't advanced enough for there to be much proprietary knowledge inolved - it looks like just a bunch of fiberglass molds. Yeah, everybody is always talking a lot about how many rip-off coasters there is in China, but I actually think the water slide business is even worse. The water park called 奥帕拉拉冒险岛水公园 is probably the worst of the big ones. Example: This is the Whitewater West Anaconda concept, presented in 2010. Whitewater didn't actually get to build on until 2013, but the ride below opened up in China just a year after the concept was revealed. Same park have this tower, which looks a lot like the Whitewater West tower at Chimelong water park below The knock-off Tornado's have been getting so good now that you can't almost tell the difference, unless you know what to look for This is China's first blaster slide, built in Chimelong water park in 2007, the model below is now standard in China, and there are at least 12 of them that I know of Let's not forget the knock-off Behemoth Bowl And also Whitewater built a family boomerang with a complete vertical wall at Chimelong, of course this park have one as well The play structures however is still a hard nut to crack for them, they are not even close to the western company's standard. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a lot more Chinese slides starting to pop up here in Europe in the southern tourist country's. I hope I didn't bore you too much with this post
_koppen
The park have been in a pretty boring phase of construction these last months. It's impossible to do any big construction works in this soil during the rainy season (May-October). The construction is now back in focus of the interesting things, and the wave pool and river is being poured and should be finished soon. They will also start with the family raft ride, mat racer and big bowl slide fairly soon. Opening is expected in time for the high season 2015, which could mean somewhere around September-November. Looks like they had to use a lot of trucks for this.. The soil here is probably not the easiest to work with if you are building a water park. _koppen
Slides are now going up fast! Yay! Love bowl slides! Colorful, and with light effects! Looks like the entrance are now RTM made, interesting.. Nice colors! Bowl again! The family raft is fully assembled and ready for final placement. Polin still have not learned how to make good use of steel, all there mat racers are horribly over supported! Nice and shiny! Damn the support for this thing is ugly! Let's look at an Octopus racer from Whitewater. This is how the supports should look like! And this one from pro slide is even better! _koppen
It may be just me but I think polin slides are the least attractive. i hope they are more thrilling then they look... I think it really depends on what type of slide it is. As I wrote earlier their mat racers look horrible, but the rest of them can be very appealing if done right
