Queuing and ticketing solutions firm Lo-Q (LON:LOQ) is to change its name to accesso TechnologyGroup.

The change reflects the company's expanded capabilities and expertise gained when it acquired the privately-held ticketing technology and e-commerce firm accesso LLC in late 2012.

Since the acquisition, Lo-Q has offered two different product lines under separate brands: Lo-Q and accesso. The board has decided the time has come to operate under a single name, and seeing as Americans prefer to "stand in line" rather than to queue, the Accesso brand has won out.

The change of name will result in a change of ticker symbol from LON:LOQ to LON:ACSO.

"The acquisition of Accesso in 2012 was transformational to our business and the technology, operations and sales synergies from the acquisition are surpassing our original expectations," revealed Tom Burnet, chief executive officer of the fast-growing AIM-listed company.

"Rebranding under the Accesso banner creates a unifying umbrella brand for our products, and defines our core business well: helping theme parks and venues access technologies that optimise the guest experience and grow revenue.

"We believe that the new name clearly encapsulates what the company aspires to be, and gives us greater flexibility to enter new markets, make future acquisitions and diversify our operations around the world," he added.

Shares in the company are up 89% over the last year.

The company is set to give a trading update on 12 November, the same day the name change becomes effective.

While I will forever probably call them Q-Bots, I think this is a great step if it means they can expand and get their virtual queue and ticketing system into more parks!

I'm surprised they haven't pushed the mobile browser version of the Q-Bot more. I used it at Dreamworld recently, worked really well and I didn't have to spend time buying one (or watching the training video... grr Six Flags) in the park. Seems like it would be a cheaper option for the parks as well, since they wouldn't have to buy the devices.

Qbot makes sense…Accessbot doesn't. Dumbbbbb.

They haven't actually changed the name to Access-Bot, Joey was just more making a funny... (I hope?)

I was trying to figure who Accesso was when I read about this. I had no idea they are behind so much stuff as far as ticket systems and apps for theme parks. The name is a little weird but I think it will be good for the company. I wonder if they will have any cool things to show off at this years IAAPA.

Accesso has been a ticketing force for a long time now. They really know how to get it done.

I definitely think the combining of products is going to beneficial for them in the long run. Makes them a one-stop shop for everything!
