rcjp Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I quite like high positive G forces although I'm not a big fan of portions of rides that pull intense Gs for a long period of time as they may cause grey out and can get slightly boring. I prefer quick peaks of high Gs like you get on the BTR clones because it allows the ride to pull more Gs without riders blacking out (and, in my opinion, it is more fun).
dropzonefan Posted August 16, 2013 Author Posted August 16, 2013 Onlyvgrayed out on one ride. Skyrider at Canada's Wonderland. A ride that might appear to suck, but is actually pretty kick @$$$ for a 30 year old Togo, being relatively smooth, and offering some crazy airtime as well as intense positive Gs..
gisco Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I don't mind when a ride pulls a lot of Gs as long as it doesn't go on too long. Goliath at SFMM in the helix is probably my limit.
richtrav Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I don't mind strong positive g-forces, but the problem is I tend to grey out easy. If the forces are withheld for too long it's just longer for me to recover. I usually grey out on B:TR clones at the bottom of the first drop and fully recover by the end of the zero-g-roll, and in the helix after the second loop and fully recover by the first wing over. I grey out on Titan all the time, I greyed out on my first rides on Iron Rattler; positive g-forces are just a little more problematic but I still like that heavy feeling you get. I love Schwarzkopf loops, especially the double loops on Shockwave. And yes, you guessed it, I grey out. After a few rides though, the greying-out effect tends to die down a little bit. Where did you grey out on Iron Rattler? That ride is all about negative g's, not positive ones, even the bottom of the first drop doesn't feel that forceful. Now Shockwave yes, I wouldn't be surprised if the g's in the back seat exiting the second loop are some of the highest out there, but it's only for an instant. If you're a sadomasochist and ever happen to be in Aguascalientes Mexico you may want to try the old Taz's Tornado, it's, well, let's just say it's a "classic" and leave it at that.

Josh Linn Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Intimidator 305's first turn before they modified it was about as much as I could take.
mark549 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 The bottom of Skyrush's first drop was probably at least as high G as I-305, but the high G zone was mercifully brief. I liked the trimmed drop version of I-305 (October 2010) more than the current (spring 2013) version, solely due to the curve after the first drop. I don't like "grey out," it feels like something is wrong medically when that happens. Furthermore, I-305 with the trim on the first drop still had an amazing drop and the third airtime hill wasn't trimmed then (and had more airtime than it does now, with the trim).
RedAppleKiller Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 I really like high positive G Forces, but I also like strong Airtime. The high positive G Forces are the main reason I love Euro-Mir that much. Euro-Mir's last helix is just insanely intense as it gets more narrow towards the end which means that 4 G last on you for at least 3 or 4 seconds. The Airtime on the other hand is the main reason Expedition GeForce is my favourite Roller Coaster ever. I remember that once the ejector Airtime on the last two bunnyhops was so strong that my laps started to hurt but it was awesome. I think a good mix between both positive forces and Airtime makes a good coaster. Btw. does anyone know how much G's these two coasters pull? The car is going insanely fast through these loops. I think it could even pull up to 6 G's. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be][youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
