RideofSteel
The Funplex in NJ will be expanding this spring with a new SBF Visa Group spinning coaster! According to RCDB: Height: 36 ft. Length: 1,017 ft, Single car trains. Picture from screamscape I'm very excited about this since this is less then 15 minutes from my house. Has anybody ridden the other two SBF spinners? Edited April 6, 2013 by RideofSteel
Voxelmatic
Why do I have the strangest feeling that after anyone rides this, their spines will be re-arranged? Oh, well, I hope I'm wrong. And for some reason, I love those colors!

robbalvey
I'm very excited about this since this is less then 15 minutes from my house. Has anybody ridden the other two SBF spinners? I've not been on one of these spinners, but I've been on quite a few Visa SBF coasters, including a couple of their other spinners, and they are um... nothing amazing. They aren't really "bad", but just nothing earth shattering. Their rides can be found all over indoor malls in Dubai and the middle east. I think they have all been "Cha-Ching" credit coasters. Nothing more....
deathbydinn
Here's what looks to be the same ride at a park called Didiland. Pretty much a knock off of Zamperla spinners, except with this you get a nice fun slam into the brakes with OTSRs.
cal1br3tto
Cool. If I ever feel the urge to "complete" New Jersey, I'll hit this up. I've certainly been tempted to do so, since I'm only missing, like, 5 coasters there.

RideofSteel
Construction on the track is complete. And it looks like this version will have lap bars not OTSRs! Credit: Greatadventurehistory.com
RideofSteel
The lap bars are released by a air hose being plugged into the car. There are 4 cars, and 3 can be loading in the station at a time. The Funcoaster opened last weekend. I was able to ride it today. It's not so good... Most of the transitions are pretty rough and the cars are not very comfortable. They also have no clue how to operate the coaster. I felt like I was at a carnival. There was no queue lines...There were also multiple times where my car dispatched without the lap bar being checked. Most of the time they took almost two minutes to send a four person car! So, unless your looking to complete New Jersey, I'm not sure if you should stop here.
cfc
But at least it's very colorful.
beatle11
It's a credit all the same. Hopefully they will improve their ops with some more practice/experience.
larrygator
Interesting fact. rcdb.com lists 24 coaster installations for 2013 in the US. Four of them are in New Jersey. Too bad none of them are thrilling. Edited April 7, 2013 by larrygator
YoshiFan
I didn't know Steel Pier and Playland's Castaway Cove were both getting new coasters this year. I guess when I go to Atlantic City this summer, I'll have to stop at Funplex to get the credit and then get to Ocean City and maybe finally get to Steel Pier to get all the credits there. Sea Serpent at Playland was interesting for a kiddie coaster with the way it went over and around the antique car ride.
