I did a search and I have not been able to find any info on this. Does anyone know if they ever got around to fixing the crash test scene in Test Track at Epcot, or have they just decided to let it go? Thanks...

I have not seen it work in over 2 years at this point. The 'crashed' car was gone for awhile, last time I was there there was a new crashed car (actually an SUV), but it still wasn't working.

This was always one of my favorite effects and I'm bummed they haven't kept it up.

I haven't ridden Test Track so I am not sure what part you all are referring to. I watched an on ride video of it and I was wondering, is the part you all are talking about when you are about to hit the wall but the doors open?

^It's just before you make the right turn to face the straightaway to the "crash test wall". On a video, I'd think you'd be able to see a white car just after the truck/ "evasive maneuvre".

The effect is the last indoor part of the ride. A car is smashed into a wall right in front of you, and then your car is lined up to be next. Just as you approach the wall, almost reaching the rides full speed, the doors open and you go into the first outdoor turnaround where the ride maxes out.

That scene was the climax of the ride, I hope it's restored next month when I visit.

One time when I rode, the crashing car was sitting still, but then you heard the loud crash and felt the wind effects, and the car folded in half like it was crashing! Just sitting there, then boom, it changes into a crashed car. We thought it was hilarious!
