The london dungeons has been planned to be moved to the county hall beside the london eye and the london sea-life centre, for 2013. In the move are the attractions in the present dungeons, with some new show areas. But the 5D ride hasn't been shown in the plans, so are they ditching it already? Also the boat ride will feature a new layout and the drop tower will be loaded from the top instead from the bottom. What do you all think of this?

I really think that this is a good move, considering they advertise for this around the eye and when you're buying tickets like crazy. It'll be great to be able to just walk over there!

Wow. This is sort of surprising. I am ire they are going to incur quite some cost to move as well as significant down time.

Putting the three attractions closer together makes sense to me. The only Dungeon attraction I've visited was the one in Edinburgh, which is right next to the train station. It was cheesy, but fun--a good way to kill time while waiting for a train to London.

Well, Merlin owns all of them, so it makes a lot of sense to move it there. Also, the current location has competition right down and across the street. As you walk to the Dungeon, scare actors try to talk you into going to their haunted attraction instead. And they offer you a discounted price as incentive. But if they raise the price and then offer everyone walking by a discount, is it really a discount? But it's current location is a bit off the beaten path, and not that close to the Eye. Now, all of their non-amusement park attractions (including the new Sea Life Aquarium) will be at the same site, other than Madame Tussauds, which I don't see moving any time soon. it should help boost their multi-venue ticket sales quite a bit.

This will make it even easier for coaster enthusiasts to hit the site. If you buy the Merlin pass for all of their UK parks, it's good for Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Legoland Windsor, Chessington, and all four of the attractions above. If you buy the pass early enough online, or you can find a good coupon (try e-Bay -- the coupon I found there cost me maybe $5-8 with overseas shipping and saved me something like 60 pounds!), you can get a lot of attractions at a very reasonable price. And you get to jump the lines at all of the attractions, too, except for the Eye, which you have to pay extra to line jump. And all of the non-park attractions in London can be done in a day or two at most. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have done any of these attractions other than the Eye. But with the pass, it was really worth it. And I actually enjoyed them all a lot more than I expected to!

As for the new 5D shooting ride, I could easily see them deciding not to move it. Due to the crowds they get, they can only keep it on a fairly short movie program. And even then it really backed up the lines inside.

Considering the crowds that do tend to build up outside the current dungeons, it does sound like a nice move. It will certainly be far more convenient having three attractions in one place. Also, it may allow for the dungeons to spruce up some of the older scenes and events as the Great Fire of London really could use a little bit of a revamp.

The Dungeons have released a new logo and some concept art for the new Dungeons. What are your thoughts? Me personally I am not a big fan of the new logo. Check out below to compare old and new logos and some concept art.

Inferno won the business after a pitch and will work on a campaign spanning TV, outdoor, print, trade, point-of-sale, digital and social media.

It will develop a strategic repositioning of Merlin’s pan-European Dungeons portfolio of attractions, where local history is brought to life with actors and special effects.

The appointment follows the announcement that The London Dungeon is to move to a new site at County Hall.

Rebecca Hamilton, the global head of marketing at Merlin, said: "Inferno gave us an impressive pitch presentation and, as such, we’re delighted to be working with them. 2013 will be an exciting year for The Dungeons, with a bigger, better, bolder new London Dungeon opening next to the London Eye in March and a Dungeon opening in Berlin.

"The Dungeons offer such a fantastic experience that leaves you laughing – we needed to work with an agency that could communicate the experience as well as ‘get’ our sense of humour."

Tim Doust, the Inferno vice-chairman and founder, said: "We are thrilled to be working with such a well-loved brand as The Dungeons."

Separately, Merlin kicked off a pitch earlier this month to find an agency to create a 2013 campaign for the EDF Energy London Eye.

I don't know about anyone else but something I am very excited about with the new Dungeons is Brian Blessed playing King Henry VIII! Below is a video release by the Dungeons showing him being filmed for the role. All im going to say is this can only be awesome!
