DarkStitch626 Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Then again the swinging "Star Ship" ones counter weights actually weigh almost as much as a school bus. I like the smaller "Ranger" and Kamikaze ones.
webgoof Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Not really a big fan of the looping variety. I can't stand the restraint systems and how tight they staple you in. It always seems that when it starts falling and you are in the backwards motion, the shoulder harness sucks in so much it hurts to breathe. See, I haven't had that problem...the lapbar does squeeze pretty tight when setting, but relaxes back enough that it doesn't bother me. Then again, I'm a skinny guy, so that may have something to do with it.
eddie200330 Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I'm 6' 145, skinny man also. It is just so uncomfortable.
larrygator Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I really enjoy the Rocket-themed one at SFOT, as it goes completely inverted, and just keeps you hanging there... I had been told that it came from Astroworld, but I have no way to validate that as fact... SFOT does have another ship-themed swinging ride, but I've never ridden it, simply cause it doesn't invert, and the rocket one does! That would be a Looping Starship - and we have a thread for that Looping Starship thread
E1ticket5 Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I like the Sea Dragon at Pacific Park, and the Banana Split at Gilroy Gardens.
coasterbill Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I've never been to Nagashima Spa Land but I have a question for the people that have... After watching this video, it doesn't seem like these ships go up all that high despite their large size. How is the ride experience on them? The reason I like the SeaDragon models is because the top seats end up at about a 90 degree angle and you get some great floater air. The Huss ships come nowhere close to that and from this video (though I'm not judging a ride that I haven't ridden) these ships don't seem to either.
