Gutterflower Posted June 1, 2012 Author Posted June 1, 2012 Well the Intamin rocket may have been a misleading but the parks Intamin Topside Impulse is apparently already built. I'd not seen the rendering of the cars until today but they do looks pretty sweet with Wing Rider style seating. Unfortunately there's no photos of the ride yet but I expect to see something at the IAAPA Asian expo next week. For now this rendering shows them pretty nicely. Source: http://vhcoasters.com/
_koppen Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Really? If it's true it's a huge for me surprise that the ride is actually happening
_koppen Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Apparently this has changed name to Victory Kingdom now. Really want to see more of this Intamin Fly rider, can't wait for more info! www.victorykingdom.com/
Moose Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I must be doing something wrong, I have tried both firefox and ie, but I can't get anything on their website to work.
Moose Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Nope, still nothing. I'll just have to wait until the park is featured in the wonderful "Coaster of the week" threads.
cfc Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 ^If I can find any pictures of the frickin' place that I can use.
ernierocker Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Ooh, the joy of Chinese park websites. I have better luck using Google Chrome on most of them, but looks like a lot of the links are broken right not on their website.
_koppen Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Lot's of pictures-----> Here Looks nice, still no sign of the Fly Rider tough, but they are only releasing pics of one side of the park, so hopefully it's there and they just want to hide it until opening day.
Shavethewhales Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Ugh, looking at that Mack SuperSplash knock-off makes me cringe. Not only is it another blatant rip-off, it's such a BAD rip-off. I personally think the Mack models themselves are funky and odd with the turntables and the pointless drop in the middle, but this is a step beyond that because it doesn't even have the turn tables or track, it's just a flume with an extraneously long elevated section that has a pointless dip in it. It just annoys me that instead of trying to actually make a good ride, they clearly only care that it looks like something their competitor built.
_koppen Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I totally agree, and look at all those supports it has, it looks like such a waste of steel.
Moose Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 The park looks like it is coming along nicely. I don't see any sign of a super splash, just an "over supported" slc.
Moose Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Thanks^ That flat portion looks like it could be agonizingly slow and a spot of potential stalls.
_koppen Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Here are some pictures of a soft opening. Victory Kingdom, soft opening. Still no sign of the Intamin ride, and I start to think that it does not exist. It's really disappointing, since this is probably the ride I'm most interested in at the moment, except DiVertical and Skyrush. Hopefully pictures of the whole park will come up soon. Edit: And the park only got a 6.2 out of 10 from they guy who took the pictures.
SharkTums Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 ^He made some reference to a U-Shaped Coaster but the translation is not good. I guess we may have to go check this place out in September and see what's really going on!
_koppen Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I really can't wait for pics from the upcoming China trip!
_koppen Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Now I actually found proof that the ride exists! It's not finished yet tough, but it does exist. If you look to the right in this picture, you can see the foundation for the ride. The station looks like a giant H. If you then look at this rendering of the ride from above, then you can see that the foundations for the supports looks pretty accurate as well. It's really nice to see that the ride will actually get built, as I'm planning a China trip for next spring Hopefully it's finished in time for TPR china trip!
A.J. Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 That flume is a Golden Horse production. I almost thought that Hopkins might have made it. There's a similar flume ride built in Taiwan, and several more being built in parks around China. The one in Taiwan looks like a legitimate water coaster! It seems like Victory Kingdom is "par for the course" compared to other theme parks in China. Great theming and decent experience, but mediocre attractions.
SharkTums Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 ^^Great find! I'm assuming that WON'T be ready by September though...oh well, more for next time (if it still exists!)
Josh Linn Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 First knockoff sports jerseys, now knockoff roller coasters....what will the Chinese fake next? I say space shuttles.
_koppen Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 The track has arrived! Looks very similar to I305, except the support track is triangle, instead of square. Hopefully vertical construction has started for TPR's visit!
_koppen Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 (edited) Some Intamin love for ya all Edited January 16, 2013 by robbalvey
David H Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Just a few months too late for the TPR China trip! By the way, the water ride that we were discussing in this thread turned out to not have coaster track in it, but I rode the water coaster at E-Da park in Taiwan after the China trip, and it did. I didn't count it, because it was mostly a shoot-the-chutes, IMHO, but you could legitimately count it, since it has coaster track. I may reconsider that decision, but we'll have to see.
SharkTums Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 ^^I still can't believe it's being built. Especially seeing the rest of the park and the knock off rides!
