A 30-year-old man died Saturday after falling off a ride at an Orlando amusement park.

A spokesman with Orange County Fire Rescue said Justin Honeycutt was an employee at Magical Midway on International Drive. He was working on the Star Flyers ride while the ride was closed for repairs. He was about 90 feet in the air when he fell about six feet. Rescue crews found Honeycutt unconscious, suspended in the air by a safety harness. Firefighters had to use their own harnesses and cables to climb up, and then slowly lower the man down.

Investigators are not yet sure why the worker fell. Magical Midway is now closed while an investigation is under way.

Star Flyers is billed as "America's only carousel on steroids."

He was working on the Star Flyers ride in a harness when he fell about six feet.

It may have had more to do with the harness than the ride itself. Either way, it's really too bad.

An Orlando amusement park is back open after one of its workers died while working on a ride Saturday.

A spokesman with Orange County Fire Rescue said Justin Honeycutt, 30, was an employee at Magical Midway on International Drive.

"It is under investigation," said Mark Smothers, spokesman for Orange County Fire Rescue, "we will turn it over to [FL Dept. of Agriculture], and the sheriff's office will treat it as a death investigation."

Investigators are not yet sure why the worker fell. Magical Midway reopened Sunday. Star Flyers will remain closed while it is inspected by the FL Bureau of Fair Rides Inspection.

Found another news story. Turns out he's a local independent wrestler.

Florida Independent Wrestler Justin "Ryze" Honeycutt Dead At Age 30

Posted by: Kenny Williams of WrestlingNewsSource.com on Jul 03 2011

Florida independent wrestler Justin Honeycutt, who performed under the name "Ryze," has died at the age of 30 following an accident at an amusement park that he worked at.

Honeycutt was working on the "Star Flyers" ride (which is billed as "America's only carousel on steroids") at the Magical Midway amusement park yesterday, which is located on International Drive in Orlando. The ride was closed for repairs, and Honeycutt was approximately 90 feet in the air when he suddenly fell six feet down. Authorities and rescue crews found Honeycutt unconscious and suspended in the air by a safety harness. Firefighters were forced to use their own harnesses and cables to climb the ride and slowly get Honeycutt down.

An investigation is currently underway into how the accident occurred. The park will remain closed while the investigation is ongoing.

Honeycutt wrestled for the ASW independent promotion.

On behalf of everyone here at WrestlingNewsSource.com, we would like to offer out condolences to the family and friend of Justin Honeycutt during this tragic time.

Well, they said his leg got caught on a beam on his fall down and he had some head trauma when they got up to him. The harness did it's job, it was just his unfortunate position during the fall I guess.
