A113 Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 Hey, I was wondering if there are any mounted pov videos of the ride from Las Vegas. I haven't been able to find any on the internet, they're all handheld.
robbalvey Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 (edited) Here ya go! Enjoy! Edited June 6, 2011 by robbalvey
robbalvey Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 And speaking of defunct Las Vegas roller coasters, here's High Roller...
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 ^That sounded like it would be absolutely unbearably rough if it were a full sized ride.
Popcorn54 Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Nice Videos, pretty cool to see them. You wouldn't happen to have a video of the Hypercoaster at that hotel, Povs of it seem quite rare, Can't remember it's name.
downunder Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 ^I think you are talking about Manhattan Express at New York New York, the greatest TPR video ever:
downunder Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 ^I thought it might have been that one, I've downloaded a non-TPR POV for Desperado at some stage, just do a search on youtube (I can't get youtube at work). I was more looking for any excuse to post that Manhattan Express video.
Erik Johnson Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Just to let you know, Manhattan Express really is that bad.
ernierocker Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Even though the ride looks pointless (besides being on a 1000 ft. tower), I am still kicking myself for not hopping on High Roller when I visited the Stratosphere in 2005. I still hadn't quite gotten back into coasters and didn't see the point at the time. It was already disassembled when we came back in 2006. I am glad I rode Speed though, definitely worth the $10 or whatever it was back then.
DenDen Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Ahh, the memories of living in Vegas in the 90's. It was fun, thanks for the memory-rewind.
downunder Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 ^^I rode it in 2003, I'm uncomfortable with heights, even seeing a height on TV makes me uncomfortable. So ironically, a coaster with one of the most mediocre layouts ever was my most unnerving coaster experience.
Kyle Coleman Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Just had to say that manhattan express video might be the best thing I have ever seen on tpr. The ride really does suck that much though.
Twister II Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Here is the note that hangs on Sahara now, written by Sam Nazarian himself. It does suck that Speed closed, but $10 a ride...that only launched once every 15 minutes was ridiculous. I would see people on the loading platform with all day passes and be pissed off they spent $25 for it, and can only get in 3 rides an hour (if they're lucky.) In other news, Manhattan Express has had full trains every time I drive by! I drive by about twice a day and every train I see is full! Good for them!
stuff2break Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I'm glad i went on speed, it was great fun and worth the 10 min wait with a load of hill billies...
