Walibi Belgium partly flooded after heavy rains

Walibi Belgium is for the bigger part flooded after the heavy rains this weekend.

 

I'll try to found some more info and pictures on my pc at home this evening. Here already some impressions

Too bad it flooded the nice part of the park.

The other side could have used the cleaning.

It's weird to see the park flooded while I've been there only 10 days ago.

That's terrible! But, I guess worse could have happened because isn't Walibi Belgium near a river or something?

Hopefully the damage isn't too bad, but water damage is a big problem.

It's the off season, I'm sure it was empty. I'm sad seeing a great shuttle loop that is SBNO.

Actually there is a river running through the park, but that wasn't the problem. It was the unseen heavy rainfall on Friday, Saturday and Sunday which caused the floodings all over belgium.

 

Larry, as far as I know, WB never had problems like this before. According to what they wrote on their FBpage, no big damages have been caused either.

Yes, that is disappointing. Turbine was the best coaster there.

Season is over at Walibi Belgium, but I remember the park flooded the year they opened Dalton Terror. You couldn't "cross" the lake to reach Flashback and Turbine but had to make your way all around the park to reach the once called "Sirocco". The little river is "la Dendre" and can be seen crossing the bridge to Vampire, as well as the 2 bridges that led to Tornado / Vertigo zone

Agreed--the Tutankhamen shooting dark ride is great, and they have a good mine-train coaster, too.

Yeah, I remember those rides being good as well. As for the rest of the park, nothing stood out too much. The woodie was decent, but not spectacular. I guess "Vekomaland" lived up to its nickname.
