QueerRudie Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Of all the RCT III Parks I've seen, this one piques my curiosity in each update I see. I'm stunned by the clarity your rides are built with- and it all looks beyond realistic in terms of what a park might look like- Outstanding job. Re: Schwarzkopf JJ/Speedracer coaster: Was the overall idea to make it like Italian Job/Stunt Track? It has a very similar look to it in a lot of ways- and with the building at the far end looking like a parking garage, well- it's an easy confusion from my end. Kudos, R.D.
gci2011 Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 Thanks for the responses! Ace of Spades: Thanks for the compliment! Name suggestions are great, I think I'll probably go with RPM over the current "Red Racers" (lame). Thanks for the suggestions! QueerRudie: Thanks! I try to keep it realistic to the timeline when I can. The coaster does have a racing theme, but not as much theming as Italian Job... err, Backlot Stunt Coaster has. The building that you see is actually the park's offices, but a parking garage is a really good idea. I'll try to whip one up if I have time, maybe as a station? Thanks!
Ace Of Spades Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 No prob! Also, if I may, PAINT YOUR QUEUE LINES! They look so much better if they're not black-on-black!
gci2011 Posted November 5, 2010 Author Posted November 5, 2010 Hopefully this is the last update before Season 5 starts. Changed the path colors, finally, lol. Also finished theming for the dark ride and came up with a logo for the coaster after the name change to RPM. I've also been messing around in Picasa. Let me know what you think about the effects. Happy, Ace?! Lol, kidding, they do look much better this way. New path colors on this ride too. The finished dark ride. Now I just have to add the building to enclose it. Thanks! -gci2011
Ace Of Spades Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 YOU CHANGED THE COLORS! Lol, anyway, they do look quite a bit better! And the dark ride does look really good, even without a building. Oh, and the Picasa stuff is cool too. If you ever need help with that program, just PM me, I'm really good with it.
gci2011 Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 (edited) May 29, 1971 5th Season Welcome back to Boulder Leisure Park! We've just opened for our 5th season with our largest expansion to date! Opening day attendance is slightly down from last year, but we're sure it'll pick up once word gets around about the new coaster, RPM! Other new rides include "Paratrooper", a paratrooper, "Phoenix", a condor ride, "Fright Night Estate", our first dark ride, and "Hurler", a spinning mad house. I'll get on with it though: Welcome back to the park! Look at those crowds... Guests are glad to be back for another year! El Furioso's first train of the season is about to leave the station. Mad Mouse was also drawing a line today, often a rare sight! Modern Motorcars also received new signage, as well as path coverings. Looking up the hill toward Fright Night as the first guests enter the new area. First ride on the Paratrooper! Hmmmm... what's this? It's RPM, our awesome new coaster! The sun sets behind the Rockies after another great day here in Boulder. Check back soon to hear guest reactions to the new rides! Until next time, -Robert Clarke PR Manager Boulder Leisure Park Edited November 14, 2010 by gci2011
sfgamguy Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I love the park. It has gotten so much better since you started.
gci2011 Posted November 8, 2010 Author Posted November 8, 2010 July 1,1971 5th Season Hello again Boulder, I've got another large update today to showcase plenty of offseason improvements and additions, as well as some really nice pictures of the park. It seems to look better and better each time! I also have been informed that Boulder Leisure Park will also be losing an attraction for the first time within the next 3 years. We'll have to wait and watch what happens. Mad Mouse has gotten new signage. Phoenix also received a new sign. Another new sign! Hmmm... a new trend, it seems. We've also re-landscaped much of the entryway. That's quite a line for Grand Wheel! I learned today that it is officially the most-ridden ride in the park! Shoot the Chutes looks empty, but what a nice view it gives! What a lovely little park we have here! Signing off once again, -Robert Clarke PR Manager Boulder Leisure Park
gci2011 Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 August 1, 1971 5th Season Hello again, We're experiencing a slight slump in attendance this year. We're fairly confident it will pass. For now, enjoy these photos! The new Paratrooper is still very popular. El Furioso never fails to delight guests! Looks like we're going to have to take these out for next year! We've been busy digging out this small pond. The park's attendance is down this month. No worries though - we still have a bright sunny future ahead! -Robert Clarke PR Manager Boulder Leisure Park
Ace Of Spades Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 You know, you once commented that not many people comment on this park. That's mainly because you release, to be honest, too many updates when nothing is being updated. If you're going to update the park, show us something new!
gci2011 Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 Ok thanks. I never thought of that. I'll just maybe update only if I've built something new. I've just been trying to show some pictures of daily park operation, because sometimes I only focus on construction. Anyway, thanks for the tip.
gci2011 Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 Hey TPR. Posting as myself today. I've decided that this is the end for Boulder Leisure Park. I'm finding myself increasingly pressed for time with schoolwork and other activities. Based on your suggestions and my own observations, I have some improving to do. I will take a break for now to try to put more effort into another park in the future. From Boulder Leisure Park, I have learned that Rome wasn't built in a day. I will take more time on my future works and this will hopefully result in a better product. Thank you for your support. gci2011
SoCalCoasters Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 See, this is something that happens way too often on these forums; someone starts a fantastic park, than abandons it at its peak of popularity. Just try and finish the park up, post a dowload. Or just leave the park the way it is and put up a download, and try to put a cap on the storyline. This looked like a great park, I'd hate to see you abandon it.
gci2011 Posted November 10, 2010 Author Posted November 10, 2010 ^Thank you. I will continue for at least a few more seasons, and a download will come soon. I've just found myself becoming more disenchanted with RCT3 and Boulder Leisure Park. I'm sure that this will pass, so for now I'll give it another chance. Thanks for your kind words! I suppose my new plan will be to show pictures of guests in the park during the season, but I will highlight new additions at the beginning of each new season. I'm sorry if it seems like my updates are redundant, construction updates shouldn't dominate the season. Thanks, Ace, for your suggestions.
gci2011 Posted November 10, 2010 Author Posted November 10, 2010 I ordered Soaked! two days ago, should be here today. Psyched! September 1,1971 5th Season Hello Boulder, Attendance was slightly up in August, but still not to a level we had aimed for. Regardless, the park is doing well. Check out these pictures! This guest loves RPM! Shoot the Chutes still draws steady crowds. At least Boulder Tower still has a line! Crowds are slow but steady. A sneak peek for next year! Have a great day! -Robert Clarke PR Manager Boulder Leisure Park
Ace Of Spades Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Trust me, you'll love having the upgrades from Soaked. Makes life a hell of a lot easier.
AJClarke0912 Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Why are all the rides' trains/cars in the ugly default blue/yellow/red color scheme?? Paint them! Otherwise, very good.
ericm95 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I love your park. I am glad your continuing it. Just keep working on your buildings and architecture more.
gci2011 Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 Thanks everyone! I had quite a bit of trouble getting Soaked installed last night. I eventually had to reinstall everything, and fortunately nothing appears lost. I will be posting a download very soon! Coupon: Thanks! Ace: I hope so, looks great so far! AJ: I honestly hadn't even noticed... thanks for the tipoff! ericm95: Thanks, I have plans to redesign parts of the park in the future that will introduce more architecture.
Ace Of Spades Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Might I just take the time out to say that your buildings look absolutely fantastic to me (your CS ones). Seriously, they're some of the best parts of the park!
gci2011 Posted November 12, 2010 Author Posted November 12, 2010 ^Thanks! October 3,1971 5th Season Hello again, Its that time of year again where Boulder Leisure Park has to close our doors. I have a few end-of-season pictures: "The Breeze" will be relocated to the new area for next year. Single rider! The park is winding down for the year once again... A hint of what's to come. Have a great winter, and see you all next year! -Robert Clarke PR Manager Boulder Leisure Park
hulahoop1 Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Does this mean you are abandoning this park.
