tiger01
Hi, I went to southend today to grab some pics, i hope you enjoy them. It was a typical bank holiday and the sun wasn't shining and no site of the sun to be seen. Welcome to English Weather. We have to put up with this all the time. Anyway, Adventure island is a small park which was a lake but then they turned it into a theme park-ish fairground. The main ride is Rage, A 2007 EuroFighter. A very intense ride for the space it has! Twisty aswell! I see the park Mini Mega is up and running Was a very busy bank holiday monday with lots of bikes down at the seafront. I don't know why they call it a seafront when its the river thames. And you can see kent on the other side. Traffic was bad! Good thing we took the train. THe pier, which is the longest pier in the world! The go karts. The quiet side of the park. The otherside is the main side really. I see you Mini Mega! Evil Death Machine! THe Dragons Claw! Argh, I am Egyptian and i will EAT your BRAINS!!! No, his brains are for I to feed on! oooooooo...i am a ghost...be quiet or i will eat both of your brains! ok HIGH and MIGHTY!!! I like the looks of the new Mini Mega station, another day i will ride it...another day. Barnstormer is a great family coaster! Up the lift hill Round the corner Don't be mistaken this coaster picks up speed in the valley section! Back to the station Scorpion, a good flat ride! the scull really wants revenge dosn't it. no comment Rage, a Gerstlauer EuroFighter. Very forceful for it's size! And The Ride Is Twisty! As rob would say.lol snake slides Ooooooo ahhhhhh Even though i have ridden Rage a million times before today the first drop really took me by surprise. I forgot how steep it was! The best and only loop i have experienced! A really good ride. This waterslide garuntees you a wet bum! Vortex, another good flat similar to Scorpion. The new dark ride, I didn't go over the hill today... But I have ridden it before and it scared the hell out of me! This Turtle swing does dry your bum after the awesome waterslides! A very compact park! Green scream-A coaster themed to an alligator throwing up after having a few too many drinks. I love Rage! Even though there was a massive queue it went down really quickly. Almost! More twistyness! Helix! Twistyness is good! I believe Rage was crowned the best roller coaster in the UK according to Blue Peter. Came above Colossus and Kumali! I see skys of blue... A rollercoaster tooo!!! twisty track A lift hill of 90 DEGREES!!! More than vertical drop! Fireball replaced my peter pan ride!!!!!! More Scorpion mmmmm....Donuts To be honest i have never seen this thing before! A big wheel ( not as big as the crazy foreign ones! THe new arcade below the newly painted mighty mini mega. More rides Mini Mega THe evil house! You come out of this thing with bruises from runninng into walls inside. Fun, but it hurts. Train that goes round in a circle. Adventure island must have been desperate! American whip. Having fun! Light house slip The best place for pictures See??? Pretty much the whole park. You can see how they squeezed all the rides into this tight space. Village of population eaten! If you forgot where we were. A resturant they consider 'posh'. yeah this place is really posh when they are below a radio station and above public toilets! If you want the best donuts in the world go to the three shells just out side the park by the beach... Yes there is a beach here! sort of I would just like to salut all the guys out there who make these amazing TRs. You guys are legends! I now realise how much time it takes to sort these photos out. My computer crashed just when i finished the TR so i had to restart the whole thing. Hopefully this time it won't die on me! But yeah, thanks for amazing pictures of parks and entertaining us when we have nothing to do. That was a great day at adventure island. The park really lights up at night and Rage is awesome in the dark! I really think this is an amazing park. Video_Rage.AVI Here is a video of Rage From today, Enjoy. jedimaster1227
^This is a great little trip report! I would recommend uploading your Rage video to Coastertube though so it can be viewed and streamed far more easily. Aside from that, keep up the good work! My computer crashed just when i finished the TR so i had to restart the whole thing. Hopefully this time it won't die on me! Ohhh, I've been there, man... Awesome TR of a place I never knew existed! Mind you, 95% of my UK park awareness is thanks to TPR, and based on the above, that explains things a little.

themeparkologist
Whoa!! Wait, you've only been on one looping coaster? Rage? No more? And only one loop!? It's okay, I've only ridden 7 loops myself. That was actually a really nice TR. I'd only heard of Rage, but after reading this TR, I looked it up on rcdb and the park looks like a boatload of fun! Is it your first? Rage is my first looping rollercoaster. But then I just remembered that i rode a loop at PleasureWood Hills, Lowestoft and so i've just ridden 2 loops. In the summer I will Ride at least 3 more loops because i'm going to Blackpool and Alton towers. mwm1444
My first vertical loop was on last year's West Coast trip - trying to block out the pretzel loop on Superman at SFGAm before that.. But on-topic, nice TR. I visited Southend a week or so ago, only to remember that it wasn't open except on weekends at that time. Thank goodness I'm on the UK trip! Rage will be my first Eurofighter, so I'm looking forward to that.

Reon
I really want to go to this park if I ever go to the UK. It proves that you dont have to be a huge corperate park to have awesome stuff, and I want to try out a Mighty Mini Mega...(plus Rage ofcourse)
Hockeydad
I love how Mini Mega is built atop a building. By the way, great TR, you at least got yours uploaded. I tried before and my computer just couldn't take it, I failed miserably. Never heard of Adventure Island before...looks like a great little park. Six Flags Enthuseast
An awesome little (literally) park. A Eurofighter, great doughnuts, some random awesome carnival rides, I'm surprised this isn't a TPR favorite! (although there isn't any way it could beat the Spainsh Fair or Oktoberfest)
Kingsislandfreak
I love these British pier parks they are unique in there own way they kinda remind me of the New Jersey Pier Parks
senna
Good trip report and pictures. It is great to see more people coming to Southend for the park, its a good little park with some good rides and its nice that its a very short walk from my home I went down there this weekend to see Mega Mighty Mini as it has been moved and re painted, they have done a really good job with it. Not been on it yet since it's been moved. The park looked really busy on Monday which is great, every year for the past 3 years something new has been done. I must meet up with you guys in June.
