chickenbowl Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 (edited) How long is the drive between Cedar Point and King's Island? I imagine 1 and 1/2 to 2 hrs, but I could be wrong. Edited April 1, 2010 by chickenbowl
jlines Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 From where I live it takes about 1 1/2 to KI and 2 1/2 to CP so I would say 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
Homeboy23 Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 If you go first thing in the morning with no traffic it will be around 3 hours.
Jerrykoala2112 Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 It took us about 4 1/2 hours, but we stopped to eat which might explain why.
Reon Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Depends on the route, but it should take 3-4 hours. I almost just want to say take 75, or 71 between them, but theres still that unavoidable little country road section that you'll get somewhere in the trip. If you're looking for an easy, but maybe longer route, I would suggest (starting at CP so vice versa for the other way around) Route 6 East to 75 South, then Cross over on 275 East and get off the 71 North exit. Its a bit long, but it will take you on a direct route in between the 2 parks.
ryerson Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 We did it last summer and it was just under 4 hours. We took the map quest route, which is 2-lane highway until you start going back towards Columbus and then South into Cincy. The good thing is that KI is on the North side of Cincy, so you don't have to go into the city at all.
chickenbowl Posted April 1, 2010 Author Posted April 1, 2010 I didn't want to start a new topic to ask another question. How crowded will the Ohio area (mainly Cedar Point and King's Island) during June 19th and June 20th? Is this before the summer crowds hit? If so, how long will some lines be?
VGplay Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Both parks will probably be quite busy. Cedar Point on any Saturday is packed and at that point of the season on Sunday I'd expect at least hour lines for the major coasters. I haven't been to Kings Island regularly enough to gauge its crowds, but it is also a busy park and it'll be a weekend in the summer, so expect similar crowds to Cedar Point.

I go to Kings Island every week in the summer, ride anything except Diamondback first! It will be an 1-2 hour wait.

So are you saying that the DBack line has a full queue and spills all the way around the kids area or back past the Beast? Just curious because last year I waited around 35 mins with a full queue and that line would have to be ungodly long to be over an hour. Unless they were running 2 trains of course. CP crowds pick up more as June goes on. Stay away from the park on Saturdays between Mid June to Mid August if possible. The middle of the week is best for CP in the summer. I go in May and September the most to avoid this but obviously everyone cant do that!
