MixedDrink Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 The coasters that need it the most are Shockwave, Anaconda, Avalanche and Rebel Yell. Poor Rebel Yell, that thing has needed a paint job for awhile now. Rebel Yell does really really need a paint job. I hate the color scheme.
Superstar94 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 The color scheme is ok, it just needs a clean coat of paint.
KDCOASTERFAN Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Anyone think we'll see a webcam added to the park's homepage during the off season? I was so disappointed that the park didn't have one to cover the Dominator construction during the 07 off season while the other CF parks had webcam construction coverage of their new for 08 projects.
Superstar94 Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Maybe it is because it was used, people had already seen it being constructed.
KDCOASTERFAN Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Maybe it is because it was used, people had already seen it being constructed. Nahh, what I heard was that the park didn't have a PR manager so they couldn't afford to install a webcam at the time & let coastercrew provide the updates as a result.
Superstar94 Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 they got a PR manager near the end of the project
RinkyDink94 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I wish they had done all that for dominator.
Superstar94 Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Well if they did get a PR manager in time they might have.
RinkyDink94 Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I wonder when the are going to announce the new rides for 09?
scruffy Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 They just did here. At Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia, two new family rides will debut in the Grove section of the park next summer. The Americana Ferris wheel and the El Dorado rotating car ride are sure to help families create new memories.

Yeah I read about the 2009 additions to KD being confirmed on the CF homepage this morning,I wonder why Black Squid wasn't included? Still Americana & El Dorado will look sweet on HS:XLC's former spot next season......now if they'll just bring on the web cam for those off-season construction & ride re-painting updates.
RinkyDink94 Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Would they do a web cam for flat rides?
cfc Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Since the discussion has drifted beyond "property lines" into other stuff about KD, I've changed the title of the thread to reflect that. Although you can still discuss the park's property lines if you want, I guess. Chuck
KDCOASTERFAN Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Would they do a web cam for flat rides? I belive Dorney & WOF have had them for their recent flat ride installations & didn't CP have one for planet snoopy construction coverage?
Capitalize Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I'm actually very very pumped for KD to receive a ferris wheel. El Dorado was a cool looking flat, too.
Superstar94 Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I will probably ride El Dorado, but I hate ferris wheels.
KDCOASTERFAN Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I will probably ride El Dorado, but I hate ferris wheels. I'll actually enjoy Americana more mainly for the various photo ops the ride will provide.
pkd freak Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I think it's Americana. Looks too large to be El Dorado. http://www.kdlive.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=286&p=1697#p1697
cfc Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 ^Since we already have a KD discussion thread (which started as a "KD's property lines" thread), I've merged your topic into it. Everyone can speculate away here. Thank you, Chuck
pkd freak Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 it is the color of El Dorado If that is El Dorado, thats a huge flat..WoooW .... Also, here are a couple of vintage pix from KD. http://www.kdlive.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=309
John Peck Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 This is what El Dorado Looked like at Geauga (Six Flags Painted it this color): http://geaugalaketoday.com/Rides/El%20Dorado.jpg Eldorado was about 65' when it was at it's highest point. And this is Americana: http://geaugalaketoday.com/Rides/Americana%20Lake.jpg It's a very nice looking wheel with unique ARROW/HUSS Tubs.
KDCOASTERFAN Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 The blue parts appear to be Americana's supports while the yellow/tan parts in the background look more like El Dorado structural parts to me.
