ginzo Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 ^That's because they're known world-wide for their coasters. I don't think Cedar Point controls which TV shows feature it. If you want whichever park you're a fan boy of to be featured more, maybe they should get some better coasters. You don't need good coasters when you have hype and fanboys. Great marketing can beat great product.
ghost007jas Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 I've only been on Tatsu and Millennium Force, and had to go with Tatsu. I do really enjoy Millennium Force, but Tatsu really is a superior ride. The intensity is absolutely fantastic, and the sensation of speed is nearly as good as Millennium Force's. The only thing that Millennium Force REALLY has over Tatsu is airtime. And even then, the Corkscrew and Zero G roll on Tatsu are rather wonderful. I was, however, pretty happy to see Bizarro taking the lead early on, and I am a tad disappointed that Millennium Force has taken such a substantial lead. But hey, that's business!
PriestofSyrinx Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Out of the six I've been on thats on the list, (Griffion, Apollo, MF, Hulk, Montu, Goliath) I have them in this orderon my personal steel list: Apollo: #15 Hulk:#9 Montu:#8 MForce: #7 Griffion: #T2 (tie with Maverick and Magnum) and finally; Goliath #1
larrygator Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 This will be a much better hobby, when enthusiasts stop stressing about polls like this. There is one Top 10 list that matters to me and that is my list. There is one Top 10 list that should matter to you and that is your list. There is only one poll that is all inclusive and doesn't reward a coaster just because more people have ridden it and that is Mitch's Poll.
coasterkid495 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 And did you realize that for Six Flags Great Adventure always has Nitro and El toro.

No, parks are good the way they are and they don't need new coasters, they need more people to try different ones. That was a complete blanket statement.
Skycoastin Steve Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 ^When you're talking about TV shows that feature coasters, it's completely accurate. They aren't going to go to a park that has a Boomerang and an SLC as their feature coasters (hello, Wild Adventures), they're going to go to a park that has four coasters that are 200 feet or taller and five that go 70 mph or faster. Coaster shows just want the biggest and fastest, not the ones that enthusiasts like. How else do you explain them drooling over SOB and Kingda Ka? His complaint was about how much the Travel Channel (or whatever other station) covers Cedar Point coasters, not about how good the parks are. That's the same as the people who piss and moan about how much ESPN covers Tim Tebow and how that somehow makes him a horrible person. It's just a sad, jealous argument. If you want the Travel Channel all over the coasters at your park, get them to build better coasters; just like I say to rival football fans, if you want ESPN to cover your best player, get some better players. For the record, I don't think CP is the best park by any stretch of the imagination, but it's certainly better than most options out there.
DOCTOR DOOM!!! Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 ^ It always made me upset that Mantis, Riddler's Revenge and even Georgia Scorcher were featured on Travel Channel and National Geographic! However, where was Chang?! Chang broke 5 world records in 97 before Riddler's Revenge eclipsed it in 98! I seen shows produced in the last 5 years that featured Mantis and Georgia Scorcher, However Chang was NEVER featured and NEVER got the credit it deserved! Chang is widely considered to run better than Mantis, and is known to be preferred over Riddler's Revenge and the smaller but younger Georgia Scorcher by some!
