When I was in college, our dorm didn't have firedrills or fire alarms often, but there was always that one dorm, where someone did something dumb and everyone there had to be outside at 3am because the fire alarm went off.

That's happened a few times at an apartment complex I lived in a few years ago too. ugh.

Sorry hun! Did you try going back to sleep once the 'all clear' was given?

Fire/Drills suck. My elementry school caught fire 3 times since I was there. There was one year where there was a drill every other week

Then in summer school, only one person heard the announcement about ignoring the fire alarm...we were watching Coach Carter

Our rude awakening was a few years back when some idiots I used to hang out with came by and vandalized the van (Sorry, no pun intended, haha) by chucking grapefruits and shooting paintballs at it. Finally we stayed up one night which had random pornographic calls by them, random calls and hangups on my cell (dunno how they got my number when they never knew I had a cell) and finally, a driveby armed with grapefruits. They pull up as we're peeking out the door, I see this chunky arm pop out the window with a grapefruit in hand as we popped out and they just took off. Next day, we chased one of the idiots out of the parking lot as he left his car behind...(hee hee...) Actually, I was nice and left it alone although temptation was telling me to do something.

Fire drills suck.

It must have been sophmore year. I was in frech class, or Drivers-ed/health and there was a fire alarm. Everyone was evacuated all over campus. The fire wan in the buildings across the street, wich is where my class was. Everyone but the 5-8 rooms across the street got to go back in. There was no visible fire or anything. The fire department came and checked each of the rooms. It was about an hours or so before we were let back in.

Senior year we had a bomb threat. That was fun... About 20mins or so into class (wich started at like 9:40 or something) the entire school was evacuated. We stood about side untill just about 12:00. It really pissed me off because I leave scjool at 11:00, and I was almost late for work. I never got to eat lunch before I had to run to work.

Ever have a transformer blow up? Now that's a rude awakening!

Last Wednesday, arroximately 6 am, I was having my morning coffee in the front yard. When the explosion went off, ( in the opposing corner of my property) I dropped my coffee cup, but I didn't need the pick-me-up anymore. LOL It was the first time I ever witnessed a transformer exploding, I really thought someone set off a stick of dynamite. The flash was very bright, and it just shooked my heart right out of my chest.

those things are nasty when they explode. When I was a kid we lost power to the underground transformer at the beginning of our street. The thing exploded with this loud noise and power went out. Then a few weeks ago we had no power in the morning and the reason for that was another tranformer explosion. But of course I didn't hear it and I sleep very deeply

A few years ago we had a really really bad ice storm, almost the entire northwest corner of the state (Where I was living at the time) was without power. Well, the night before I was at work when everything started getting pretty bad and I was looking out the window and saw a transformer explode. It was night time mind you, and the flash was quite bright and blue. Then the power went out for about 2 minutes, which meant I had to go do my job (movie film projectionist at the time). That was fun. Went out for pizza the next day because it was the only place in town that had gas ovens and was open...
