themeparkologist
I'm confused, and unfortunately it doesn't take much. Are the yellow 'thingies' on the station .3ds or supports?
thrillrideseeker
^^ Thank you for asking, but I really want to try and not have any .3ds other than the parkpack stuff if that counts. Not sure why, I kind of just want to try and do this huge project without them. I know it won't look as good, but still! Again thanks for the offer! ^ I'm sure after reading what I just wrote you can figure out that they are just supports not .3ds things! ~Matthew
thrillrideseeker
*Sighs* Ok... Sorry for another double post, I waited forever and a day, and no one responeded, so now its time for me to post some updates... Update - All The Support work is done. - The launch pulleys have began being installed. - Coke machines have started being placed. - The Finish line is finished. - I still need to do some more work on the station. - Need to finish the catwalks on the tower.... There is still a lot more to be done, and I think the project is starting to look good! I know that the drop is not perfect, and that the top hat might be to wide, but pretty much I am just going for the entire project rather than just track work. Enjoy, and COMMENT!! ~Matthew
DBru
The tower looks really good, especially in that second-to-last photo. Keep up the good work!
Guest
Except the downward spiral doesn't start that late. Also, as already mentioned, the tower should be more parabolic, but what can you do.

Enjoy! ~Matthew Its a work in progress too! The start of the Christmas tree! Controls! More Station work... Station work... I like! I need to add the ends! Its a work in progress! thrillrideseeker
Looks very good! Keep up the great work! p.s. Have you ridden Real's Dragster? 1.) Thank you! 2.) Yes, I have ridden Real's Dragster, and trust me mine is going to be nothing compared to his! He did a fantasitc job, and he has all the scenery and such... I am just not that good with no limits, and I sure don't know how to make 3ds! Anywho... Worked for a few hours on the project today. I had no idea when I started this project like forever ago that it would be this time consuming, but it is fun, and gives me something to do, so I wont complain! UPDATE - Launch track catwalks are almost done. - Started the placing of the brake fins. Now for the photos! Enjoy, and as always... Let me know what you think so far! ~Matthew I know they are to wide compared to the real one, but they will have to do! Yes... I know there is an issue on them being aligned, I shall fix it! Catwalks... The webcam view! Webcam? *gasp* Just like the real thing... Well almost. Haha! Looking good IMO!
themeparkologist
You're really good at using supports to make things! Also, just an idea, maybe you could use some of Real's or other's .3ds in your recreation to make it that much better...with their permission, though. I can't wait for a release date! haux
For your brake fins, try the flat wooden slats. The ones that are handrails on catwalks. Then just rotate them so they're vertical.
themeparkman25
I don't know if it is just the view or what, but your picture (see below support that is cirlced in attachment) seems to have that support at a significantly greater degree, as in angles, than in real life. I know it is hard to see, but the first yellow support attaching to the tower, right at the very bottom, appears to be at a 45 degree angle. And then look below at the attachment of your picture, and see the difference in the angle? Again, could just be the angle the picture was taken, but it appears to be a little off. thrillrideseeker
So I took everyone's advice, and I fixed what was wrong with the tower supports, and I fixed the "brakes" I never knew you could rotate the flat supports, but now that I know its so much better looking! Thanks! As for the tower supports, I had 1 to many white supports, and I was missing a group of supports that connected to the tower. You will be able to see what I mean in the photos! Update - Tower Support's Fixed! - New Brakes!! Enjoy, and as always if something doesn't look right let me know! Thanks guys! ~Matthew Again... Much better! MUCH BETTER!!! IMO! The good, and bad... themeparkologist
About your revisions...the point that I think themeparkman25 meant was that the support was at a 45 degree angle from the ground but a 90 degree connection with the track. Am I confusing in any way?
thrillrideseeker
Sorry it has been a while since an update. My computer was being a b!tch. Update So far there has been a lot of progress. I have started working on the electrical room, and I have done more work on the station. I know that the station does not look the best in the world, but come on... I am building it using supports, so its pretty good for what I have to work with. I have also started working on the copper alloy fins along the launch track, Oh my... There are so many of them. I have also started working on the fence at the end of the transfer bay. Oh yeah... and I have started working on the Magnum scenery... Yay! Here are the photos! Enjoy, and comment! ~Matthew Fence... *sighs* Not so great... Its a work in progress... Ugh... It doesnt look too good, but as well it is a work in progress. Ummm...? Electrical Room! Copper Alloy fin! Magnum anyone?!
Sasquatch
Wow, Magnum really surprised me! Are you using 3ds arrow track pieces, or is it more supports?
thrillrideseeker
Wow, Magnum really surprised me! Are you using 3ds arrow track pieces, or is it more supports? *Sighs* Its more supports. I tried to use the construction kit to make 3ds, but it wouldn't let me save them as anything but a nl track file. Sad story. So instead I have to use supports... Lots, and lots of supports...~Matthew
dr.gumbo
Woah! You gonna re-create the whole park here. I have to say, it does look very good. I just hope the trackwork will meet the standards of the scenery.
thrillrideseeker
So I must say... I have been falling behind a bit in this project. For some reason I have just had a lack of motivation. But I am working on the project again, and hopefully it will be done sometime this year! I had no idea just how time consuming this project was until just recently. In the end I think this project will turn out really great though! UPDATE: - Finished installing the brake fins, on the brake run. - Started the entrance plaza... *sighs* Good luck to me on this one! - More work has been done on the station - More work has been done on controls, and YAY! They are almost done! I would say the overall I am about 25% done with this project. Anyways, enjoy this super small update, and comment!! ~Matthew Still a lot to be done here. Meh... They look "ok" Its a start... Flags Much?! Ok... They are not all "wavy" like the real deal, but they get the point across!
AJClarke0912
Wow, this is quite the themeing without 3D objects! This is the old-fashioned way of themeing, lol, and you're doing it very well! Look forward to it!
thrillrideseeker
So I was working on this project, and not sure what happened, but when I went to the simulator my tower was gone, and so was my launch track. No idea what happened. I tried to close it and reopen it and such, and nope... Still nothing. So this is an un-update... Un-update: - Have to rebuild the launch track - Have to rebuild the tower - Have to all the supports for the launch track. - Have to rebuild all the supports for the pull up for to the tower, and the pull out of the tower... Again... Not sure what happened. But OMG. Imagine how angry I am now. Ugh... Comments? ~Matthew It looks a bit different... *cries* I think that the term "FML" is appropriate now... themeparkologist
Who has access to your computer? ^Good point and you could upload files to a server sort of like jarmor does. Really sorry, dude. Hope it gets goin' again.
blizzardsnowwuffie
Don't give up your recreation was so awesome. Did you get a virus? It's kind of strange how it just disappeared like that. I know how mad I would be. I just recovered from a very bad virus myself an I lost alot. I'm not gonna tell you to backup when I myself don't backup. Anyways if you don't decide to continue it will be a real shame considering I think yours looked to be one of the best.
