Going On Any Awesome Trips Next Year?

Recommended Posts

My list is not even close to matching yours. School makes it awkward for theme park trips (not to mention the fact that I can't drive, I don't have the money, the list really goes on...)

A few times this year, I'll visit Galaxyland (that's an easy one, it's only a half-hour bus ride from my house).

During the summer (late July/early August) I'll be doing a two week exchange to Japan (Yokohama, specifically), so I will most definitely be hitting Yokohama Cosmoworld, Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, and Tokyo Disney Land. I can't wait!

So here's a little story as to why I'm going to new parks this year. It's very odd.

My mom HATES amusement parks. She didn't want to go to Sea World because she found out it has roller coasters. She HATES HATES HATES rides/roller coasters/etc. So the other day she told me that this summer, we're going to Orlando, and we're going to Disney World.

I'm already confused. She HATES people, there's a lot at DW. She HATES theme parks. Well, DW IS theme parks. What is going on??

Then she said possibly Universal Studios.

I'm realizing this is all because she's sad that I'm leaving for college very soon.

So TODAY she said that we're also going to Ohio, and she's going to get me a season pass to Kings Island and I can go there everyday when we're in Ohio.

What is going on

^Yes, but when it comes to amusement parks, she will not go. That's why I'm finding this so weird. Most parks that I've been to, I've been there with someone else because she hates them SO MUCH. She's doing this because she wants to spend time with me before I leave the nest.

Just tonight, she brought up the possibility of Cedar Point too. Good God this is sooooo weird!!!

Right now my biggest goal is getting every available woodie credit in the U.S. However, the Kiddie Coaster at Playland in NY has a max height restriction, so that just kills it right off the bat.

I'm 6'3" but someone much taller than me got that Rye kiddie wood credit on the 2008 TPR East Coast tour, their approach was largely psychotic but also very persistent, eventually the ride ops just let them on to get rid of them was what I heard.

They wouldn't even let me on the mouse at Rye gunplayland let alone that minature woodie.

Kings Dominion hopefully for opening of i305.

Kings Island

Holiday World

TPR Europe Trip parks

Carowinds

Orlando for IAAPA hopefully as an Ambassador again.

As of right now, no major "coaster" trips are planned. Will most likely be sticking with the SoCal parks, possibly going up north for Bay Area Bash and possibly a trip to Vegas so the boy can ride those coasters.

We may be going out to visit some friends in Phoenix at some point so we may hit Castles and Coasters. Likewise we may be going to Denver to visit some friends/family so Elitch Gardens is a possibility as well.

We have a few non-coaster trips scheduled (Sequoia/Yosemite in June) and a cruise in August.

Also hoping to get back to FL at some point this year (later in the year) but we'll just have to see what happens with that.
