live2tell75 Posted January 31, 2010 Author Posted January 31, 2010 Today's update: Florida's Fantasy Isles  I never got a chance to visit Florida's Fantasy Isles. This small children's theme park was located in Ft. Myers. I'm not sure when it closed. The 2 brochures I have of the park don't have dates on them, but I estimate that both are from the early-mid 80's. Looks like the park had half a dozen standard kids rides. Did any of my fellow TPR members ever visit this place? If you did, please share with us your memories. Thanks! BrownStreak Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Wow! That is the shortest train I have seen at any park anywhere! One car!

larrygator Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Thanks Eric -I'll get these added to the Park Index next week, when I have some free time.
rosscoe Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Please tell me someone has some photos from the Jaws3D exhibit, that film is such a trashy pleasure!
montezooma Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 WOW! Busch really upgrades their parks over the years. Sea World and Busch Gardens Tampa look like completely different parks compared to the 70's and 80's.
RoCo Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 This stuff is all gold, and not just for the amusement park nostalgia factor; I love the "new wave" 80s-style graphics on the early Adventure Island brochures: Hot Pink and Neon Blue! Drop Shadows! Lines in the Background! Everything on an Angle! Classic...
live2tell75 Posted April 27, 2013 Author Posted April 27, 2013 Hello Friends, after a long three-year hiatus, Eric's Brochure Kingdom has finally returned! Today's update continues to look at Sea World Orlando through the end of the 1980's. Highlighted in today's update is the brand new Penguin Encounter that opened in 1988. Figured it is an appropriate time to reminisce, as Antartica: Empire of the Penguins will soon be opening in it's place in a month. Enjoy! Sea World Orlando, 1985 brochure. live2tell75 Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 Tonight's edition features Sea World Orlando brochures from the 1990s. This was the decade that saw SWO's first steps in adding mega themed-attractions and rides. With the opening of the Universal Orlando Resort and Disney's Animal Kingdom, I felt SWO moved the park into the league of the big boys. New attractions included: Terrors of the Deep, Mission: Bermuda Triangle, Manatees: The Last Generation?, Pacific Point Preserve, Wild Arctic & Journey To Atlantis.Let's take a look back at Sea World Orlando in the 90's.
