monsterfan99 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I wonder how much Jay Leno paid Kanye to do the stunt According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first episode of The Jay Leno Show last night drew 17.7 million viewers, nearly double what the first episode of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien did back in June (9.2 million viewers) and notably higher than Leno's final Tonight Show (11.9 million viewers). Of course, Leno is in an earlier timeslot and also had Kanye West on the show after his controversial VMAs antics made him the talk of the country. Jerry Seinfeld was also on the show.
Philrad71 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Yeah, it was classless, predictable, and ultimately just a pathetic attempt at shocking showbiz. MTV got what it wanted. Is anybody really surprised? At this time next year, all will be forgotten, and he'll probably be nominated for a duo with Chris Brown, featuring Taylor Swift on background vocals. Oh, and the record will be produced by Ron Artest and Michael Vick. HAHA! Great post! I remember when they used to have rock/alternative/rap/metal videos with Martha Quinn, Kennedy, Riki Rachtman, Kurt Loder, Ed Lover, and Adam Curry. It was all about cool 80's videos....what idiot(s) screwed up the good thing they used to have? MTV for about the last 10 years has been the biggest pile of crap channel I have ever seen. Stupid reality shows, bogus, staged awards shows, lame V-Jays...I gave up and finally realized that they were no longer music television, but fail television. MTV eats total
RCFreak Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 ^Except they have a channel that only shows videos (MTV Hits, it's not available everywhere, but it does exist) I didn't like him before and I'll continue to think he's a douche. nothings changed for me really.
jmicha Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 ^Yeah, I get MTV Hits and also MTV U when I'm at school, both of which are set up similarly to MTV of the past. They actually are nice to put on in the background when you are doing homework, on your computer, etc. as they do actually show music videos and introduce new music.
Team Thriller Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 ^ I know right. My respect for Obama went up. --James

Also , there are six MTV channels, MTV, MTV2, MTV Tres, MTV Hits, MTVU, and MTV Jams. I personally think that they all are a little much, and MTV Tres isn't even in Spanish!
Zack44 Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 The worst part about this entire ordeal is that it completely overshadowed the death of Patrick Swayze. Damn kids and their rap music...
edh Posted September 20, 2009 Author Posted September 20, 2009 Well unless MTV is a psychic, I hope they overshadowed it. He died after they filmed it.
