^That's what everyone said, but honestly I thought it was GREAT! Just gives it more room to grow for next time. (Though American Eagle was simply the best wooden coaster I've ridden yet, so Viper's got a long ways to go to top that.)

Viper is different everytime I ride it, sometimes is amazing, and sometimes is horrible and screechy

I was at Great America yesterday so here is my input on the rides I went on.

 

Batman- Amazing. We sat in the front row, best ride you could have on it.

 

V2- Being short I could barely get in the seats. Other than that, great ride, would be better if the holding break was on.

 

Viper- Meh, I barely got any airtime, nothing compared to my last ride on it.

 

Raging Bull- Front row was awesome. Really fun ride, the only problem was it broke down while we were in line.

 

Superman- Not worth the wait. We waited about 2 hours for a 30 second ride. It was my first flying coaster so I didnt know what to expect. Really lame and short ride.

 

Demon- Running really well! Didn't get hurt like last time.

 

American Eagle Blue- OMFG. That was so smooth, it was running awesome. Great ride, I really think it's a can't miss.

 

Giant Drop- First time on it. When your on the ride it doesnt seem to fall as fast as it looks.

The refurbs on the trains are amazing. Not only do them look nice but the OTSR are actually not bad at all. Made the ride even better.

And OMG, I wish I'd seen Curly-Mustache Guy again even more than Sexy. (The inside jokes will hopefully become a little clearer once my TR is posted!)

Viper- Meh, I barely got any airtime, nothing compared to my last ride on it.

 

I don't know what happened to Viper, but it feels like it's dragging a boat anchor behind it. It's not rough at all, just dog-slow; actually felt like it might stall in the second-to-last turn.

^ It was not running too bad last night. Got ok airtime in the last row of the 2nd to last car. It does feel like it is running slower right now then earlier in the year. The marathon sessions in April and May on it were outstanding.

Yes, Coasters After Dark is tonight until midnight and the next one is Wednesday August 12th until 11:00. I went to the first CAD and it really wasn't ERT, more like the park stayed open for a couple more hours. Lots of the major rides like Raging Bull still had pretty long lines but i'm sure other parts of the parks were less crowded.

humm, CAD is tonight? I might have to go to the park after all tonight.

 

Crowds were starting to get thick when I left the park at 9:30 am this morning after the world record attempt.

I know Batman, V2, Ragin Cajun and Viper still had long lines on the last CAD. However, some of the flats were kept open and they were walk-on. So if you like flats, this is a great time to go.

Just a note, the only flats I saw open at the last CAD were some of the more thrilling ones like King Chaos, Revolution, and Giant Drop so not everything is open.
