[RCT2] Six Flags Wyoming

Recommended Posts

While I was home visiting my parents during part of my spring break, I decided to use some of that free time to start up a new park. I was going to do a Colorado based Six Flags park, but since there was another one on TPR in the works not too long ago, I decided to cross the border into Laramie, Wyoming for the setting of this park.

Founded in 1979 by a local farmer who, after a summer trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain, became inspired to add rides to his land. The park was purchased by Six Flags in 1982. Today only five of the park's original rides from that opening year remain.

Thunder Mountain is the park's oldest roller coaster. The coaster extends along the mountainous terrain of the park and is the park's "largest" coaster. As of 2006, the ride uses the trains from the former Astroworld Viper.

Many portions of the coaster never leave the ground, and the ride has a fairly large underground portion.

Headhunter, a GCI built in 2004, is as close as you can go to a Terminator recreation without being an actual recreation. In fact, Terminator's design was inspired by Headhunter and the SFMM version is nothing more than a slightly modified clone.

"Vekoma Alley" as known to fanboys, is home to the park's Vekoma headbangers and a conveniently placed first aid center. A generic SLC called Mind Eraser, and a boomerang relocated from Six Flags New Orleans in 2008 called Joker's Revenge.

Canyon Blaster is a generic Zierer Tivoli clone like the ones found at SFDK, SFGAdv, SFNE, and others.

Comments and criticism are welcome.

You bashed Cedar fair in your last park will this be the same concept or just a generic six flags park?

This will be a generic Six Flags park, but I will throw in a few jokes as always.

When I saw the title, I was thinking it would be some n00bish park that sucked! But boy was I wrong! I love this, it seriously makes me want to go buy RCT2 (Sold my old disc.) I'm a huge fan of Thunder Mountain, so much like Mindbender and Shockwave, two amazing Schwarzkopfs.

Thanks! Yeah the crappy n00b Six Flags parks are spreading like herpes, so I decided to make this instead of another Cedar Fair park. I didn't think about Mind Bender or Shockwave since I have not ridden them. I based this off Revolution since I have ridden that. This is much more spread out and covers a larger area - much like Marineland's Dragon Mountain - which was my inspiration for this terrain coaster.

Looks great man. Let me know if you need any help. Just got back in to RCT2 after a few month break. Looking for some new projects.

Thanks, I'm fine.

I really like these realistic parks. People should make more of these. I don't know why, but it reminds a little of Geauga Lake .

How is this like Geauga Lake?

Once again Sam you've really outdone yourself. Great job so far. The "Vekoma alley" and first aid station just crack me up. I look forward to more updates. Oh and thanks for such an awesome Birthday present!!!

LOL. Advil sales are off the charts at the first aid station due to its prime location.

I like it it. Can't wait to see more.

New screen to come sometime soon. Depends when I have time to finish the next ride I'm working on.

Here's a couple new screens for you guys.

I never really liked the look at the game's go-karts, so I decided to make my own racetrack. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.

White Water Safari is an Intamin rapids ride built in 1993. This one's heavily based off the same ride at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (one of my favorite rapids rides!).

Is there a home depot themed ride or just a corporate sponsorship haha?

No sponsorship. It's one of those advertisement misters that Six Flags has put up lately around their parks.

Here's another screen from the top of the rapids ride.

Farmer Brown's Log Ride was the park's second ride. It then later became The Penguin's Blizzard River.

Looks great and hope to see more of the layout than just the drop because we all have an idea of what a dive coaster's first drop looks like,

Still awesome park and hoping to see more

The only thing I'd say can be done better is your foliage, its good but I'd advise using less full tile trees and more quarter tile foliage scenery

I think thats the MCBR, also why do you have the path going though the goliath sign?

Yeah that's the MCBR. The layout follows a design typical of modern dive machines. As for the path going through the sign, at SFMM on their Goliath, the entrance goes through the 20ft tall sign between the "I" and "A" (Judging by your comment, I assume you've never been to SFMM or seen the entrance area for Goliath in pictures). This was the best way to achieve that look in RCT2.
