The other day I had Aloe Vera Juice for the first time. I was expecting it to taste all nasty and plant like.. I was pleasantly shocked! It tasted like Oranges and Vanilla..

Has anyone else ever tried it? Heard of it?

Depending on the type of aloe vera juice you get, it'll taste different. The stuff you pick up at Whole Foods/Sunflower in the big jugs has nothing save aloe and water, taste like crap and is usually used as part of body cleansing. The stuff you drank, did it come from an asian import store? That stuff usually has some sort of sweetner(usually orange or other citrus) in it to cut the aloe taste.

I remember when my mom bought jugs of Aloe Vera drink years ago. Everyone thought it was disgusting, so she never bought it afterwards.

But considering her health nut status, I wouldn't be surprised if she bought some soom.

I drink aloe twice a day as part of my weight loss program. It is concentrated so I have to cut it with water, it was bad for the first month or so - but now I am used to it.

It does keep me VERY "regular"

That stuff has sweeteners in it...if you get the pure stuff it is absolutely vial. I was told to serve it cold, it ended up tasting like cold vile.

But it soothed my heartburn.

I'll just stick to using soap with aloe vera in it to keep my skin looking young and healthy. There are too many other better tasting things you can consume to keep your innards healthy.

Seriously, I just eat about 25-30 grams of fiber a day. Keeps me as regular as three-minute X2 dispatches.

Of course I eat red meat. How do you think I wash down the fiber?

I believe you need some red meat in your diet. But I eat more chicken than beef anyway, so I don't worry.

Yeah, it does have a sweetener, corn syrup. And I actually got it at a Northgate Market! (That's kind of like a 99 cents store) Ingredients: Aloe Vera Gel Powder, (12%) Aloe Vera Crush (8%) Corn Syrup, minerals and water. It does taste good but then again there isn't that much in there compared to water and other stuffs. o_O

Corn syrup = FAIL!

They might as well have used real cane sugar. And should have unless they went with Splenda or stevia.

They need to find a drink that'll clean out your arteries. (and yes I know someone will just post "but your arteries have nothing to do with your digestive system" I know that, so don't go posting this in the dumbest things said on TPR topic.)
