Rollerman87 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 The one thing Knott's Xcelerator has on TTD and Kingda Ka is (1) prototype and first of its kind, and (2) second most intense launch on the planet (thrid when Ring Racer opens). Plus, no OTSRs Counting the mine train would be 10- Thankfully math skills aren't required by ride ops very often. Screw you. When I originally put a list of the coasters up, I accidently put Silver Bullet and Ghostrider on the same line, and counting by lines, I had written 8 coasters. I was keeping that miscount in my head, until you happened to number them. So sorry that I'm human. Cause you know, Ride Operators must either be complete morons, or coaster gods.
WFChris Posted April 7, 2009 Author Posted April 7, 2009 ^^As I recall, Xcelerator has OTSR's. Chris.
Mr.Six Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Now now, ADULTS , lets do something more productive then arguing on a coaster website on such a lovely monday night.
Rollerman87 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 ^^Nope. Xcel has never had, and still does not have, OTSRs. Look it up on rcdb.com and get back to me
WFChris Posted April 7, 2009 Author Posted April 7, 2009 ^I hate to admit defeat, but I guess you are right. I guess I'm rusty in my roller coaster knowledge (not necessarily a bad thing). Back in the RRC days, I insisted that Batman The Ride ran 3 trains, so its all good -Chris.
Rollerman87 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 ^Just read my ultra defeat before about the Mine Ride I'm sinking faster than you But yep, that's what makes TTD and Xcel the 2 best Intamin Rocket coasters out there, for they're the only ones left without OTSRs.
WFChris Posted April 7, 2009 Author Posted April 7, 2009 ^I'm glad you could win this one Maybe Wes' bullet train is the 10th coaster. I mean, now that it is confirmed in So Cal Chris.
Teacups Make Me Sick Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 So this is a little off topic, but pertains to silly marketing campaigns. I was listing to the radio this morning and heard a commercial for Great Adventure...gotta pick up you season pass...yadda yadda yadda. Then they started talking about the thrill rides and then they said: Come ride the brand new coaster for 2009, Bizzaro. I'm going to not saying to my friends (who, I would guess you can put in the GP department) and see if they are lead into thinking that this is a new coaster, or they just slapped on a paint job to Medusa.
socalMAN123 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 ^ It's just a slapped paint job. And some other additional effects. Similar to X2. http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=47168&highlight=medusa+makeover ---Brent
Teacups Make Me Sick Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 ^I know that....my point is that they are marketing it as a brand new coaster (when it isnt, like Knotts advertising 10 coaster, misleading). A friend just contacted me asking about the new coaster. When I explained it to him, he thought is was misleading as well.
socalMAN123 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 The same thing happened to X2. I would hear people walk off X2 and then say "Now let's go ride X!". They had no idea that X2 was actually just a remade version of X. I'm pretty sure the same thing will happen at SFGADV. But anywho, back to the topic of Knott's tenth coaster. Maybe they count Joe Cool's GR8 SK8 as a coaster. ---Brent
Electerik Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Come ride the brand new coaster for 2009, Bizzaro. Aha! After all our talk about whether it was wise to spend money on improving an older attraction, Six Flags outsmarted us. This was always their plan. Once you have more than five or six coasters, you can paint one a different color and rename it, and the GP won't even remember the old one! /Evil, but at least it's smart evil.
Teacups Make Me Sick Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 ^Yes, and after people finish riding Bizzarro, they will say stuff like "jeeze, this was a lot like Medusa...I wonder what ever happened to that ride".
