KDWB is back at it with the power-ride contest. They first did it a few years ago on Wild Thing (twice it went 10+ days), then last year they did it on Avatar (it didn't last 24 hours), and now they're switching to SpongeBob.

 

Methinks this is gonna be a little harder than Avatar.

I believe the "Ride King" is coming to NU this weekend as well. I think his name is Robert Rodriguez or something like that (the guy in the Guiness Book who rode The Boss for most consecutive rides) and he will be riding both Spongebob and Orange Streak nonstop in an attempt to break his own record. I'm a little surprised we haven't heard more from the mall because I believe it is this weekend (or possibly next weekend) that he will be doing this.

I wish Knoebels will have some contest like this. I can ride Phoenix non-stop for hours.

^^Maybe he is the mythical 8th rider on Spongebob. The contest says that there is only seven contestants, yet there are 8 seats on a spongebob car. Hmmmmm... Maybe Robert will simply ride along with this bunch of non-stop coaster riders.

Wish I lived up there. This challenge would be a piece of cake, especially if I can ride Python (R.I.P) all day, non-stop (Park was DEAD and I knew it was the last days of the "mighty" Python).

I can ride Spongebob all day, easy. If I were in this contest they would have to drag me off when the contest was over, because I wouldn't want to get off.

Well, heard on the rado yesterday that Robert Rodriguez was to be the eighth rider, but has since canceled for unknown reasons. The bright side is that now there will be eight contestants.

I think this contest would be a piece of cake for me...especially considering that the Avatar contest last year only lasted like 22 hours.

 

Robert Rodriguez did indeed cancel for an "unknown" reason. From what I am hearing (and this is pure speculation), it sounds like he is high maintenance.

I could've, because I turn 18 tomorrow, but next week is the last week of the term. KDWB should do a contest with Steel Venom. That would separate the true riders from the GP.
