^ That's actually what I needed to know. Most of the videos in the TPR profile ARE bad quality because they were videos done years ago when we needed to cater to dial up speeds. I have been going back and re-uploading them and will continue to do so.

What you wrote made me think you were having a problem with ALL videos. Is that the case? Are the other videos looking better (they should be).

Here is an example of one of our re-uploads.

Old Beech Bend Park Video:

[coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=kentuckyrumbler[/coastertube]

New Beech Bend Park Video:

[coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=kentuckyrumbler_hni9[/coastertube]

Do you see the difference?

You can't just make a statement like "I'm getting VERY low quality!" as that doesn't help us at all because that gives us NO INFORMATION! Give me details and I can either fix the problem or explain the problem.

^ What format are those avi files in? Have you tried converting them to something else? Try using HandBrake to convert and then upload again.

i'm having a lot of problems playing certain files, for some reason: the audio will play just fine, but the video will either play really choppy and out-of-sync, or it'll just freeze and not play at all (but the audio still works fine!) i think it might only happen with “good” quality files — like, with the Beech Bend videos you posted on the last page, the “old” one works fine, while the “new” one is actually worse than normal! — but i don't think it has anything to do with my connection, or whatever, since it happens even if i wait for the whole video to load! but, then again, i always have one problem or another with Flash videos (actually, they're the only sorts of videos i ever seem to have any trouble with!), so it might still be something over at my end…

^ What kind of internet connection do you have?

It's very odd that you'd be having these kinds of problem. I'm assuming that the videos are loading just fine for most people.

If this isn't the case, please let us know!

I'm not sure if this has been suggested before in this thread, if it has I do apologize.

I love CoasterTube and the wonderful coaster videos I can now have access to. But when I'm reading a Photo TR and someone embeds a couple of videos on the post the page just drags and lags while it loads all of the videos onto the page.

This is just a suggestion, that it doesn't load the whole video unless you perhaps click on the window? I don't know what others think, but that's just my two cents.

^ Hmmm.... that shouuld be good enough to stream. Perhaps your version of Flash could be out of date?

Try re-installing just to see if that helps and report back if it does or doesn't:

i installed the latest version of Flash right after i posted, just to make sure it wasn't something stupid like that, and it didn't help at all…

Well, the problem has certainly been noted I just don't know what to do about it.

The flip side of this problem is that if you don't start to buffer the video until someone clicks on it, it could take much longer to load and you may see more lag.

I think the best way to fix it is just to make sure the poster doesn't post more than one or two videos per page.

There isn't any way to tell the video player there is more than one video embedded on the page at a time. So the rare occasion that this happens I think is much less frequent than someone having a single video on a page and we want that to load quickly.

Hope that makes sense.

i just tried the videos again on another computer, and they work perfectly fine, so i guess the problem is just my old and crappy computer being old and crappy?!?!

^^ Yup made perfect sense Robb.

I wasn't sure it was something that could be coded in, I guess I'll just need to learn patience with the way it is now.

Thanks!

I might not post anymore videos on Youtube because of the stupid copy write law with certain songs you can't use & some of my videos have been deleted because of that. Robb will Coastertube have that stupid law that Youtube now has?

Posted

^I just hope that doesn't happen on Coastertube. It is so annoying now on Youtube because a couple of my videos have no audio or have been deleted & it is pissing me off so Coastertube might be the only sight that I upload my 2009 coaster videos on.

Robb (sorry for the double post) something interesting happened yesterday & today when I uploaded a video. Yesterday I uploaded my Hershey Park 2008 B-Roll & it uploaded fine but after it uploaded the screen froze & it said connecting. I waited 10 minutes for coastertube to direct me to home after you ulpoad a video but it still said connecting so I exited out. I logged back on coastertube & my video wasn't there that I just uploaded. Today I tried again & uploaded a different video & the same thing happened except when I exited out & went back to coastertube the Hershey Park B-Roll that I uploaded the day before was there. I watched the video it played fine then I went back to my profile & the Laser video that I just uploaded showed up. Both videos played fine it just never took that long for a video to upload. I just wanted to let you no what happened.

EDIT: I uploaded another video while posting this & the same thing happened except the video I just uploaded (Dorney Park Halloween Haunt October 5, 2008) isn't up yet.

^ I see two videos from you - "Laser Remembered" and "Hersheypark B-Roll"

They seem to have uploaded correctly.

On a side note, you may want to consider changing the name of some of your videos that say "B-Roll" as having looked at them now I realize that what you uploaded was your own footage of the coasters and some people may confuse that with the actual park "B-Roll" that has been released to the media (that's what I thought you were uploading.)

Usually the term "B-Roll" is used when you have some stock footage that would work to send to media or another outlet who is looking for some "generic" shots to cut away to.

While technically what you posted sort of fits that description, it may be confused for "official" footage - and I'd hate for you to run into some problems later on down the road.

I added some videos the other day!

-California Screamin' POV with JZ

-Dreamworld's Tower of Terror Queue walk through

-Dreamworld's Cyclone

-Warner Brother's Movie World AU Batman Spacewing

-Diamondback Announcement

-Giant Drop observations

I noticed my Giant Drop video was uploaded horizontally. Hm, it comes up vertical on my computer when I click it..I'll have to try to fix it.

More should be coming from Australia, SFOG, KI's Fear Fest, and soon I should get all 40 of my Disneyland videos up! Raw videos and footage of nearly everything at DCA and DL!
