robbalvey Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Hey everyone! I have been working on a "re-vamp" for the photo gallery for a little while now and I have a version that I can roll out in order to get some feedback. The basic idea behind this was to be able to organize all our photos better and seperate our "park" photos, that have all our goofy antics with our "coaster and ride" photos, so if you actually want to see pictures of Journey To The Center Of The Earth at Tokyo Disneyland, you don't have to weed through 6 pages of photos to find them! Anyway, here is the link: http://www.themeparkreview.com/photos/index.htm As you can see, I've only gotten through the "D" parks, but any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks again! --Robb "Always working to make this site better for all of you!" Alvey
Stitch Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I personally prefer the original style with the captions, it is one of the things that makes TPR well TPR
robbalvey Posted July 18, 2005 Author Posted July 18, 2005 ^ Wait, what are you talking about? I haven't changed the captions or the updates at all, just the page that organizes them! The coaster photo pages are just coaster photos, but all the update pages are EXACTLY the same! Other than I re-did them using the newer format rather than the old "black background" format. For the coaster photos pages, I just take the coaster and ride photos out of the 'caption' updates, and put them on their own page. I haven't changed the way we do updates. --Robb "Confused." Alvey
danandjackie Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 yep seems to be working fine.... sometimes when your posting live it is fun to see live comments coming back but it can also be frustrating having to wade through threads to find the photos so in all i would say this is a good idea... One thing though, I tried using the calender as we thought we had read you were in Florida in October and in the UK next year but I dont see any mention of it... Danny "Florida for Halloween and California for Christmas Day" and Jackie.. xx
SLUSHIE Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I was clickin' around and the links to Rock N Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror photos do not work.
Stitch Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 It was an error I encountered that has been remedied, I am not sure why but I got captionless ones for all of A. It is normal now though, must of been a computer glitch that's all. I like the new format a lot better now that I can see the captions again
kat11joe Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Cool! I like the new look! Makes it real easy to find all the information and what years pictures you want to look at. 8)
memphish Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Two quick issues I noticed: the BGT page is blank, and the listing for BGW lists it in CA, rather than VA.
Sir Clinksalot Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 ^ Helps if you read the entire first post ... As you can see, I've only gotten through the "D" parks, but any feedback would be appreciated!
Sir Clinksalot Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 ^^ My bad ... I thought he had said he had only done the "D's" Gregg "That's what "I" get for not reading the entire first post" C.
robbalvey Posted July 18, 2005 Author Posted July 18, 2005 Ahh! Thanks for the help on those. I'll fix the BGT and BGW mistakes when I get home tonight. Fixed the RNR and TOT links as well. Thanks for your help! --Robb
robbalvey Posted July 19, 2005 Author Posted July 19, 2005 ^ Fixed and fixed! Thanks for the feedback! --Robb
Coaster Palooza Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Looks good to me Robb. Good organizations skills...
Bubba Z Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 I thought you always had it set up like that ? anyway, yes it's a great way to find pictures of parks that I might want to go in the future Thanks.
kenshinmac Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Hey Robb I know this might be asking too much but it seems like a bit too much to have that huge list with all the info about the locations of the parks and the like. I mean I guess a page organized by location and one by name might be a bit much... But well... I've also seen some dynamic pages where you could open and close sections of the lists... Dunno how feasible that is. I guess right now it is just like information overload in those lists. Honestly you know what might help is to use a simple html list and then use CSS to tab over the list items away from the edge. It would make it easier to read and well having a bulleted list looks so damn professional. (heck replace the bullets in CSS with little coasters... ) Anyway I like the way it is going but more space between lines and making it an actual html list for each letter might look better.
