DBru Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 This is just a "filler" project until I can get Rendezvous Island back up and running. Still though, I would like lots of feedback and criticism, so I can continue to improve through my journey of RCT2! ---------------------------- Hello again, friends; this is Matthew Daily! I have recently been relocated to Nashville, TN as a head entertainment adviser for AcBhar Inc. In other words, nothing with a recreational purpose happens in the city without going through me. Last year (August 12th, 1996) I was introduced to a proposal in which Paramount Parks requested permission to open a 135 acre amusement park in Nashville. They were willing to put forward 30 million dollars for the first year. I skimmed over the plans, which included 2 roller coasters, and more than half a dozen other rides. The park would include some of the most beautiful gardens around, live shows, and many restaurants. The park will be anchored by a scaled-down replica of the Eiffel Tower. Last month, on August 14th, 1997, the proposal for Paramount's Gardens of America was approved, and construction began in a matter of days! Being the coaster enthusiast I am, I have been following this park for the last few weeks, and plan to for a long while. Here is a logo the park sent to AcBarr along with some construction photos I have taken. Park logo. Entrance. (I've been told more flowers and shrubbery are on the way... View from inside the gates. And finally, an overview of the construction so far.
coastercrazy216 Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Well it looks very familiar, but other than that great work!
Steffen_Dk Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Pretty colourful entrance you have there, but it still looks good
DBru Posted September 16, 2008 Author Posted September 16, 2008 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE Work lately has been revolving around the entrance plaza; and it's almost complete! Here you can see some of the shops that have gone up, and the completely revamped gardens! The artificial lake looks nice. Overview. How does everyone think it's coming along?
Steffen_Dk Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I love the garden feeling, but the red/orange/pink roof - no!
DBru Posted September 16, 2008 Author Posted September 16, 2008 ^LOL, what do you suggest I change it to?
DBru Posted September 16, 2008 Author Posted September 16, 2008 Any better? Now it's just orange! lol
Thelegendarymatthew Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Yeah I like this one a bit better. I know whats coming next . . .but you will have to wait
DBru Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE I went over to the construction site earlier this week, and some rides have gone up. Nothing TOO major yet, but I think you'll find this update interesting... Viking Fury, a HUSS swinging ship, was added out over the lake. This will be one of the few attractions in International Street. The Grand Carousel is the last attraction we will see in International street. The park took an interesting approach with the colorful enclosure... how do you think it turned out? I also had time to run over to the park's storage building. Wonder what that could be... See you in a while!
Thelegendarymatthew Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Well he did promise that he would make that. Thank you AIM for spoilers! I'm helping him get his scenery for his other park, so if theirs a lack of updates. Thats why!
cinciDAWGS12 Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 How is it that no matter what type of park you build it turns out so amazing? Great job! I think this park has a bright future if it can survive your cursed computer
Ben Burnett Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 The park is looking awesome so far, keep up the good work. I absolutely love your RCT2 parks.
DBru Posted September 21, 2008 Author Posted September 21, 2008 Thank you all very much for such positive comments. They really mean a lot! --------------------------- CONSTRUCTION UPDATE With Winter approaching, construction speed has increased greatly. And I am glad to report that the park's first coaster is complete! Tennessee Twister will be located in the "Twister Alley" area of the park. The coaster was built by Arrow Dynamics, based out of Utah. Here you can see the completed station. This multilooper went through 3 different design phases, until the park finally decided on one with appropriate forces and a thrilling layout. Overview. What do you all think about Tennessee Twister?
Steffen_Dk Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Can you make cs supports on that? The park looks really great; especially the settings for the pirate ship are brilliant.
cinciDAWGS12 Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 It looks really good. My guess is the first part was loosely based on Tennessee Tornado I think it will fit in great with this park!
DBru Posted September 21, 2008 Author Posted September 21, 2008 Thanks! Steffen, I've never actually tried RCT2 custom supports, as they seem very hard to work with. I'll see what I can do, though!
raptor2011 Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 I love your parks, the detail and realism are amazing. I could easily see this being a real park, and the coaster looks amazing.
KPWoCkAxX Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 This is great for a little side project! I hope you get your other park going again, I really do...... Good job on the Arrow! Looking good, I'll be watching this one! Good Luck, KP
the ghost Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 nice. Hopefully this park will be getting a sister soon enough. You'll see what i mean hopefully today.
DBru Posted September 24, 2008 Author Posted September 24, 2008 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE A co-worker of mine sent me a few photos of the progress over at PGoA today. Apparently, he had seen that the park had trade-marked "Bedrock Bash", so he went to the construction site to check it out. First of all, some track on Tennessee Twister had to be changed. You see, the s-curve was originally unbanked leading into the final helix, which was causing extreme lateral forces and stress on the trains. So...the ride finale was redesigned, moving the double-down over, and banking the entire S-curve. Hmm...this is new... Oh...okay, THIS is Bedrock Bash! (The coaster is a standard Vekoma Roller Skater, themed a party in Fred Flintstone's neighborhood!) Could this be the beginning of the park's children's section? What do you think...?
raptor2011 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Your parks are amazing and look so realistic, I'm looking forward to what happens next with the park.
DBru Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 ^Thank you so much! Any more comments are welcome...
