Guy T. Koepp Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 I spent the afternoon at Lakeside. What an adorable family amusement park. I got great footage of the cyclone. It is sooooooo much better than ours at SFMM. Some great air pops on it's speed hills. The coaster cars are classic. Beautiful teak wood with bright soft comfy red seats. Realy great ride ops. The staff was real accomodating to me with my camera on rides. I rode everything I wanted and more 3 1/2 hours. 5 times on Cyclone 3 times on Crazy Squirrel 2 times on tha Dragon (Lame) Plus lotsa flat rides. All that for thirteen bucks. What a bargain. I will be at SFEG on Monday. I can't wait to edit some cool stuff together. Does everyone in Colorado smoke? Guy "Way off subject of SFMM ride speculation" Koepp
robbalvey Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 ^ I split this from the SFMM thread. Personally, I really thought Lakeside was very nice. At night it's a throwback to parks of the 1950s. Any thoughts? --Robb
Guy T. Koepp Posted July 15, 2005 Author Posted July 15, 2005 ^ I split this from the SFMM thread. Cool. Thanks for doing that. It's amazing what these things can do these days. I sometimes have to realize that my Commadore 64 ain't what it used to be. Personally, I really thought Lakeside was very nice. At night it's a throwback to parks of the 1950s. So true. I totaly imagined letterman sweaters and poodle skirts. However, daytime is another story altogether. All I could think of was this place would fit in with a great George Romero Zombie flick. I took a nice leisurely ride on the ferris wheel as the sun was setting. It made me sad that I wasn't there with Alana, Jarett and January. I will visit Elich Gardens on Monday. If I have to come back to strike the show I'm going to bring my underwater housing and go to Water World. Guy "missing my family lots... Boo Hoo" Koepp
Twister II Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Does everyone in Colorado smoke? OMG, it seriously seems like that in that part of Lakewood. At night that place is scary...ugg. Dont go out if you dont wanna get shot! Have fun at SFEG, I dunno if Im going on Monday, but Im going soon. Just some tips for SFEG: GET THERE EARLY! Go on Tower of Doom first, then to Halfpipe, then to Boomerang, and to Twister II, Mind Eraser will have a good 20min queue by that time. Flying Coaster should be a walkon on til about 12. Sidewinder says an unusually short line til later in the afternoon. DONT MISS DISASTER CANYON!
SharkTums Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 I want to go to WaterWorld so bad!!! Elissa "screamin mimi!" Alvey
crispy Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Lakeside looks like a cool park, its funny cause people here only talk about SFEG, and when I mention Lakeside, they usually say "Where's That?" I want to get to both Denver parks, but looks like it will be next year, its difficult to travel with a young baby, and unless there is a better reason that just visiting parks, my wife won't want to go, cause of the baby Anyway, I'll proabably be able to get over there in 2006, maybe, we will see
Twister II Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I want to go to WaterWorld so bad!!! Elissa "screamin mimi!" Alvey Screamin Mimi!! Yes! Water World is so cool, I think they just got a new ride this year... I havnt been in 3 summers. Im really missing it. I want to stand on that big target. EDIT: I knew it, Water World dose have Journy to the Center of the Earth!
kenshinmac Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I can't wait to do a trip to WaterWorld this year... Plus I still haven't been to Elitches despite the whole having a Season Pass thing... (renewed online...) I'll get there pretty soon. I'll try to post something online about it. One of these days I do need to make it to lakeside but for some reason none of my friends ever want to go there... I'm not really a person who goes to parks alone so I just haven't been.
Musical Pete Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Missing out on one of the world's best parks! Peter "I rode Cyclone nearly 50 times and filmed about ten of them when I was there" Procter If only I could've lassoo'd a rope around the famous Lakeside tower and pulled the park home with me.. infact I'd plonk it next to BPB then I'd have two of the world's best REAL woodies in one place. Speaking of BPB I need to get back there soon, I last went about two-three weeks ago. :o
Rockman89 Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 To be honest, I've lived near Denver for a few years and I've never gotten to Lakeside. I was supposed to go for my birthday but was too tired from spending all day in the mountains so I took a rain check. I'll get there before the summer ends, though.
