Bin Ladin lives in a spider hole, thats where he lived most of his life. Even thought he was born into a VERY VERY rich family, he never decided to use his welth and he never lived in any fancy palace, mostly caves.

^^Sorry, but just because a 12 year old from Texas says 'End Discussion'...well...I'm trying to be nice here...it's not! Keep discussing everyone! I'm impressed with the overall behavior!

Ok, It you need to watch what you say and how you come off because you're not coming off too 'nice' to some people including me. Please go read the "I'm only going to say this once...." thread.

I believe that we are doing what is right in Iraq, the Iraqi government isn't stable enough yet to be able to protect it's self from the insurgency. I also feel like our original occupation was completely justified becuase the Iraqi citizens were living in genocide. We stepped in because the innocent Iraqi's deserve freedom as much as any other person and they were not able to fight for themselves. I think fighting for innocent's freedom is a more than justifiable cause. Please remember these are my opinions and I not saying they are the only right ones in the world

See, I agree with that. The thing that bugs me about it is that they didn't say that was our cause from the start. If they had, I wouldn't have so big of a problem with it.

I still have a problem though, sicne that money could be going towards things that would better us in the long run. I just think we should get our stuff together over here before we worry about other people.

The weapons of mass destruction was a very obvious fake front for Bush to get the support to go to war. I agree that it was a bad way to get the war effort started. In response to your finances comment there are a lot of things that need to be taken care of and unfortunately we have to make the decision of what is a higher priority. Our war in Iraq has a high toll on lives both Iraqi and American but it is something that must be done.

Since we are the strongest nation in the world we take it upon ourselves to stand up for what is right. What makes America, America is the fact that we have freedom. Our military is that of the willing, so no one is forced to fight against their will (The draft is the exception to this but it hasn't been around since Vietnam). America will always stand for what it believe's in and will never quit, surrender or let the cries of innocents fall on deaf ears.

I voted no because I'm a communist (well, that's what my dad likes to call me). I hope, in our lifetime, we can look back on the events of the last few years with 20/20 hindsight and be able to see all the corruption that has soiled our nation (and that soilage goes to both political parties, so don't think I'm bashing your boy(s)).

Robb, I totally have to point out that I respect and agree with your decision to keep this one open. There's been some flame bait tossed out here and there, but no one's taken the troll path and the flames have been kept remarkably under control.

It's really amazing how different this site's community is compared to pretty much anywhere else. Hell, even the Pollyanas at Intercot get a little hissy with each other (then again, how many times can you do the "WHAT'S YR FAVE RIDE AT DISNEY" poll before your silicon chip gets switched to overload?).

Wait, is it too late to be sucking up for the contest?

crap.

/kidding

//about all that being "sucking up"

///unless there's still a chance to influence the contest results

////slashes are cool.

I voted "No" for several reasons. First, and foremost, I am a Pacifist so I beleive that all war is wrong. However, I agree that this is an idealistic viewpoint. Second, I beleive that the US misused our resources by going into Iraq. It has been shown that Saddam was not linked to 9/11 at all. So what did the US do? We invade it unprovoked when we should have been spending that money trying to get the guy who was responsible for 9/11. Now Im not saying that Saddam was a good guy and should be in power, but I dont think that we should have spent our resources on the invasion. It was not the right time for our forces to remove him from power IMHO. But now that we are there, I agree that we just cant leave. The country is not stable enough to be left on their own. Yes, that is OUR fault, and that is why we need to fix it. If we do to Iraq what we did to Afghanistan in the 80s then we will be responsible (again) for being partially responsible for creating another terrorist nation.

(For those of you not familiar with Afghanistan in the 80s, we basically sold weapons and gave advisors to the afghan warlords to help fight the Soviets. When the Soviets were beaten, the US pulled out and left the War Lords to fight it out on their own resulting in civil war. The result? The Taliban regime ended up on top. And you all know about the Taliban.)

Ok, those are my political view points.
