cashflow50 Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Did you guys ride the Goliath already? Planning to go this year and set my priorities to go to Six Flaggs M Mountain in calif. Let me know.
benzo41190 Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 I didnt like the ride, it wasnt that fun. Personaly its not worth it, also X isnt worth it. IMO.
cashflow50 Posted July 14, 2005 Author Posted July 14, 2005 Yah but wasn't the first drop a rush...My aunt who rode it said it was the biggest coaster seh been on...Oh well you maybe right.. She is old..So the younger crowd might be better in judging huh..Anybody take any videos of the ride? Wana see how it is.....
maliboomer Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Of course they have ridden Goliath! They live on the SFMM freaking parkway! Goliath is very meh. Not all that fun at all.
alpengeistdude321 Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Sorry for this being a random post, but one of my pet peeves is when a person puts "the" in front of an attraction name. I almost gagged when I saw the topic name.
Angry_Gumball Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 I've ridden Goliath. Sadly, one air hill but I liked the ride...beats the snot outta S:TE. Just prepare for 4 g's in the helices.
cashflow50 Posted July 15, 2005 Author Posted July 15, 2005 Sorry for this being a random post, but one of my pet peeves is when a person puts "the" in front of an attraction name. I almost gagged when I saw the topic name. everybody's a perfectionist nowdays..ok "GOLIATH". HAPPY!!!!!
What Now Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 I like Golaith, even if there are much better Hypers out there. You'll love it if it's the only hyper you've been on.
robbalvey Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Goliath is not a bad ride, but IMO it's not a great ride either. If you've never been on any other hyper coaster, you'll love it. But having come back from amazing coasters like Expedition GeForce and Walibi World's Goliath, SFMM's just seems very tame. The drop is really not that great. It might be tall, yes, but it's not very steep. It produces very minor floater airtime in the back seat at best. Still, I'm sure you'll have a very good time on the ride. --Robb
Angry_Gumball Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 P.S. Don't let that floating head from the 4th dimension get you!
downunder Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Crikey, Goliath is a 1000 times better than anything in my country, well at least til Superman opens at Warner Bros Movie World later this year. I liked all other hypers I have been on better than Goliath - Millenium Force, Magnum, Ride of Steel (SFNE), and Nitro. I must admit it does pull some G's in the helix section and if you would like your nose remodelled just relax at the mid course break run and you will find your face smashing into the head rest of the seat in front of you.
djrappa Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Unfortunately I have not managed to get to any other parks with Hypers beside SFMM. Doesn't look like that is changing this year either as I am only hitting Disneyworld and Universal on the East Coast... Fix that next year I guess Having said that I am not someone who likes something simply because I have nothing else to compare it to. I didn't find Goliath to be mind blowing but did find it to be a pretty damn good ride on it's own merits. I'm sure it doesn't compare to some of the others but if you are judging it on its own merits (and you really have no choice if you haven't ridden another) I have no doubts you will find it really good. I mean hey I still LOVE our Aroow Lopscrew here at Sea World and how many other coasters are there out there that put it to shame!
ebl Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 I like Goliath, personally. The only thing about it is that I wish it had been longer, with perhaps another airtime hill or a second big drop. But it's still the smoothest coaster I've ridden even after being open five years. I haven't had a bad ride on it yet. Eric
