DBru
(Thank you to Tyler Stine for idea development and Tyler Bounsing/ArrowHater for the 'future' logo!) Hello everyone! My name is Mark Shelman, and I'm going to bring you updates on a new attraction opening here in Gibraltar, Michigan! A new amusement park named Rendezvous Island will debut April, 1996, and I for one cannot WAIT! I went to apply for a job yesterday, and grabbed a few shots of the construction while I was there. Take a look: Here is the entire island, and an overview of everything completed so far. (I'm told that mountain is completely artificial, BTW) And this is the entrance plaza. Visitors will cross over a large, wooden boardwalk onto Edmon Island (the actual location of the park), and into the main entrance. That's all for now! Let me know what you think... Imagineer100
Cute entrance. So far its looking really promising and after Dogwood Lake this should be amazing!
DBru
Thanks for all the comments so far, everyone! But I'm having a problem. Some of the scenery I selected in the Scenario Editor is not showing up in my game, and I had everything set to be available as soon as you opened the park. Some of this scenery is vital for further expansion. Anyone have ideas as to what could be wrong? Thanks!
Team Thriller
^Is this custom Scenery that's not showing up? --James
DBru
^Yes, it is custom scenery; like 1/4 roofs and supports and those types of things...
Kalepi_Konei
Are you sure you just didnt click on too many scenery packs? I remember when I had the game there was a limited amount of scenery objects you could choose. So you might get the scenery pack, and miss some of the roofs (rooves?) and what not, or you might be missing the scenery pack all together. Thats my crack at it hope it helps. That mountain reminds me of the big fake tree from Animal Kingdom!
DBru
^The thing is, I didn't select any scenery packs. I used advanced settings and picked each scenery piece I wanted individually...
Kalepi_Konei
Ok, still did you hit the max limit to scenery pieces? If not, I wouldn't know any other problem except something with the pieces themselves, have you used the pieces before, and did they work before, if no then its probably just the individual pieces themselves. Probably something happened downloading them or something I havent a clue, just trying to brainstorm here, I am at no cost an RCT2 expert so what do I know... DBru
Yes, I've used everything before, and I can see what each piece I've selected is. But then when I open my park to start building, they aren't there. Someone has suggested that I have too many small scenery pieces, and need to delete some. Anyone know how to do that? lol
DBru
Well, I went back into the Scenario Editor, and instead of deleting lots of the small scenery items, I just unselected them. So everything I NEED is available now, and I can continue with the park! ------------------------------------- CONSTRUCTION UPDATE I headed over to the construction site today to pick up a job application, and to my surprise, a new ride has gone up! I got the inside scoop on the attraction; it is an Intamin 2nd-Generation Freefall named The Descent. The park has also added some touch-ups to the main entrance. Here are some photos from this morning: Here you can see what the park has added to the main entrance: magnolia trees, flower boxes, and an awning. It looks pretty much the same from inside the park... The Descent will be the first thing see as they enter the park. It will be quite intimidating, if you ask me! That's all for now; what do you all think?
coastercrazy216
This looks like it will be so amazing. I am very excited about this park.
coasterfreak101
Looks great so far. Could you link me to wherever you learned how to hack the drop tower? I'm intrigued...
DBru
^Actually, I aquired it from downloading someone else's park. If you download this park when I realease the Grand Opening Preview, the ride will be available to use next time you create a scenario. (You will also need 8cars, though!) coasterfreak101
Ah, okay. So it's not any sort of hack. Thanks for the info. And yeah, I've always got 8cars. It's what got me non-glitchy catwalks on my contest entry.
Team Thriller
Your amazing DBru. You make the clever names, parks, and comments Can't wait to see more. --James
DBru
^Thanks! I'm not too sure about this installment...make sure to comment and tell me what you think! -------------------------------------- CONSTRUCTION UPDATE One of my friends called me up today and told me that some stuff had gone up over at the Island, so naturally, I went to check it out. To my surprise, the first coaster has been constructed! (Along with some other stuff...) Look at this: A few buildings have gone up in the entrance plaza. In this small square, there is Guest Services, the Sweet Shoppe, and a Carrabbas! A double-decker carousel, has been placed right on the border of park grounds. The name is TBA. And now the main part of the update: The park's first coaster is complete! The hairpin turns shown here will make riders feel as if they are going to fall out into the water below; what a rush! And finally, an overview of the site so far. Things are expanding quickly...what do you think?
kraken613
Looks nice..... Keep it up!
Kingbooba
Amazing. This is almost better than DLP. And I thought DLP was pretty amazing. I have only one complaint: On the Wild Mouse coaster, I see a HUUUGE drop into the underground. Looks too intense. You may want to change it. raptor2011
This park looks amazing already and only 3 rides are up. The coaster does have the big drop that will pull alot of G's but besides that perfect.
DBru
Thank you all! The highest positive G is only 3.56, which isn't that bad.
DBru
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE The Swingamajig was completed today; this thing went up in a week! I think it's safe to say that this area of the park won't expand any more before opening day... Some bathrooms and an information center have added as well. The park is filling out quickly. I wonder what is in store for the left side of the park...?
