dr.gumbo Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 With a top speed of 100mph...drops over 300ft...airtime lasting for four seconds...and a track length of over 6000ft. You'll wonder if you ever need to ride another 'Woodie' again, and thats only the first half! Thunder Mountain, coming soon to a computer near you. This thing will be my first NL ride to use tools such as Elementary and, to my surprise, its turning out very well. Its not going to completely rely on 3ds like my last ride. Instead I want to focus on the ride itself. Hopefully, it'll work this time. I'll post some pictures later.
coastb2 Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 This should revolutionize your building skills! Try to use ALL custom supports so members will enjoy your ride more.
haux Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 This sounds ridiculous. I can't wait to see screen shots.
DBru Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 The coaster idea sounds great, but PLEASE don't start using tools! Though they make your ride smoother and better heartlined, I would be MUCH more impressed if you did it yourself...
dr.gumbo Posted June 27, 2008 Author Posted June 27, 2008 why was I thinking disney when I read the title lol I thought I heard it somewhere! This should revolutionize your building skills! Try to use ALL custom supports so members will enjoy your ride more Being a woodie and being 350ft tall I don't think I'll be supporting it myself. lol However, certain elements will require me to so don't worry too much. The coaster idea sounds great, but PLEASE don't start using tools! Though they make your ride smoother and better heartlined, I would be MUCH more impressed if you did it yourself... Its a bit too late to completely re-haul the ride unfortunatly. There was, however, a earlier version of this ride which is one of the things that got deleted when my computer broke. I never finished due to quite a few problems (mainly forces). When I started to remake it, I got really bored so I desided to try a different approach to making the ride hence the use of tools. Don't worry though, I still plan on making the majority of my rides by hand. I just thought I'd try something different. As for the photos...
Team Thriller Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 I don't usually reply to these nolimit coasters, but damn. Make sure there is a POV for people without Nolimits so I can enjoy it also. --James "Your insane" Flint
dr.gumbo Posted June 28, 2008 Author Posted June 28, 2008 I've decided to put this ride on hold for now for a number of reasons. Firstly, its getting boring. Secondly, it isn't as mad as I thought it would be (probably because of the tools) and thirdly, its getting boring! I promise I'll try and make up for it. (not the first time I said that lol)
NASA Guy Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I have gotten to the point in my Coaster Riding life where I will ride ANYTHING you will throw at me (TTD with no second thoughts), and this ride is no acception. Finish it up and BRING IT ON!!!!!
dr.gumbo Posted July 16, 2008 Author Posted July 16, 2008 ^ It probably will get finished at some point. This ride along with Back to the future will be built over time, I'll add to them if I have nothing better to do. I'm still going to make other rides while these are under developement, it just these particular rides are going to a little than usual.
dr.gumbo Posted July 16, 2008 Author Posted July 16, 2008 Because I have nothing better to do, I thought I'd leave a photo just to show the size of this beast. I'm also renaming the ride 'The Challenger' (for originality purposes). As I said above, I'm still working on this thing but I'm not going to decidate my life to it.
dr.gumbo Posted July 19, 2008 Author Posted July 19, 2008 The layout has been completed. As you can see, I've outdone Son of Beast in every aspect including inversions. I don't know if I'm keeping the corkscrew or not so don't be suprised if its not there on the final ride. I'd like to know what you think so if you don't like it, please tell me.
Team Thriller Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 IMO, you should just work on this one instead of the other projects you are working on, since this one is more unique and cooler. --James
dr.gumbo Posted July 21, 2008 Author Posted July 21, 2008 Heres the replacement for the cokscrew: www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/i38830 Enjoy!
dr.gumbo Posted July 23, 2008 Author Posted July 23, 2008 Another photo: www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/i38884 I'm starting the 3ds soon so stay tuned.
