spaceace12 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Saturday morning, at 3:30am my sister was very alert to the rain. She looked outside and it looked high on her bedroom window. She went to the living room, the water was about 2 inches from the door sills and still raising. We immediately started putting things up above the floor that we wanted. We saved quite a bit, but lost a few things. My guitar got warped, but it still plays good. All the desktop pc's got water in them. They are sitting with covers off. We are going to try to get out of lease that was starting next month because after this, we don't want to live there anymore. Anyway, here is some pics of the apt. and some other places. Just because I felt it needed to be done. I put our American Flag out first thing. Water Level on the screen door. My closet Bathroom Water line on wall Front room Kitchen Moms computer Sisters room Dinign room Patio. Water level on ditch/levee protecting the neighbors neighborhood. Town South Plaza on Sunday And a national guard truck with sand bags.
DBru Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Dang...sorry to hear about this! I'm glad you at least saved a lot of your stuff!
TheRapidsNerd Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Man, I'm so sorry! I feel for you, I really do. It's been a rough year all around for a lot of folks. Glad to offer moral support if possible. Hang in there and will keep good thoughts. Best, Michael
spaceace12 Posted June 9, 2008 Author Posted June 9, 2008 I live by the theory that things happen for a reason, God has a plan that he has mapped out for us and things just go along with his plan. We are hoping to get back to our old apartment complex that we lived in 3 years ago.
chmilo24 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Holy Crap that sucks. There has been some flooding in Sacramento but never like that. I guess I'm lucky that I live on the 2nd floor of an apartment complex.
kraken613 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Man that sucks! I feel for you! I used to live on the coast in Florida and we got flooded once. It really sucks!
the sound Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Sorry to hear about this. I wish it would rain in my screwy hemisphere. But oh no. Stupid El Nino exists.
Calaway Park Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Oh no! I feel terrible for you! I wish all the best to you and your family! And on your birthday too! -Sean
ChrisCrowder Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Floods are always crappy. Unfortunate that you live in a bungalow! But it's a good thing to see that the damage isn't that bad. This is what hit the UK last year, in our "Summer". ---------------- Now playing: The Pigeon Detectives - Say it Like You Mean it via FoxyTunes
