Gutterflower Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Hey all It appears another 2 Intamin Mega-Lite coasters will be going up at the 2 new Happy Valley parks in China. The Mega-Lite is the same layout as Kawasemi at Tobu Zoo and Piraten at Djurs Sommerland. The RCDB has them up at http://www.rcdb.com/id4225.htm and http://www.rcdb.com/id4220.htm and the park map on this page shows the layout http://www.cdhlg.com/snty/main.html The Shanghai park will also be getting your standard Superman: Ultimate Flight clone and the previously announced Gravity Group Woodie called Fireball. Seems like this mega-lite is selling well for Intamin.
packfanlv Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 ^What is the standard Superman The Ride clone? There are so many different Superman coasters that I am not sure. Do you mean Batman: The Ride?
Thom25 Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 ^ Intamin made three (3) Superman Ride of Steel coasters for Six Flags. The model at SFNE is unique while the ones at Darian Lake and Mid America are mirror images of each other.
Loefet Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 He means a SUF clone: http://www.rcdb.com/id4224.htm Nice to see that you have found the locations of the 2 last Mega-lites that have been confirmed by Intamin for a while.
packfanlv Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 B&M also made several Superman:Ultimate Flight Rides and there are several other Superman coasters that is why I was confused. The OP never said SROS. I have been on two of the three SROS (SFNE and SFA) and I think they would be a great addition to any park. So if they are getting that then it will be great! Thanks for clarifying that. Edit: Thank you I was writing this when you posted that it was a SUF clone.
SharkTums Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Do we have any recent news on the Happy Valley in Chengdu? Isn't that pretty close to the Earthquake area? I wonder if that will push back the opening of the park.
Gutterflower Posted May 26, 2008 Author Posted May 26, 2008 Sorry my mistake on the Superman thing. i did indeed mean S:UF not S:TR. No news on the park yet. the website is up but theres no mention of the earthquake as of yet.
Gav- Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Wow, china seems to be the place to be! Those are some awesome coasters they're getting.
stormrider Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 With all these clones and a few custom designs, Happy Valley could become the Six Flags of China
