TheStig Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Hey TPR! You all probably saw Chuck's (cfc) "how to make apricot cheesecake" thread, so as a follow up I put it to good use and made my own! I'll let the picture captions do the talking, but enjoy! Oh, and really, dont send me any blenders... ..and for me to clean all of this crap up. Thanks for reading guys, and a big thank you to Chuck for the recipe! Add the Apricots to the top! Yes yes, be jealous of my Apricot placement skills. Now its time to let it chill for a few hours... Oh man, we are REALLY close to an overflow! Luckily there was juuusst enough to not cause a problem. Only one more thing left... Alright blending process complete. Boy is my arm tired now... Igor's grandfather. Does anyone still use these anymore? If you think thats good, you should see what I can do drunk! Ahhh much better, looks like a giant bird crap, but that will soon change. Now that its all in one bowl, its time to add the whip cream! Oh yes, a leaking processor means its working! One batch done, next batch ready for blending. After the lemon juice was added I mixed it all together. Yeah, Oskar was pissed. Should have been a blender you POS... But JESUS CHRIST they are hard to juice! I must have crapped myself seven times to squeeze out two tablespoons of juice (and I still havent changed myself!) To make up for the pre-made crust, I had fresh lemons from a friends lemon tree to use the juice from! Just make two batches and mix them all together! Gee, a blender would have solved this problem...you guys know what to do =] Aw tits, Oskar sucks. Wanting to be a future engineer, naturally you would think I would know what to do in this case...yeah I didn't, but I figured something out... Time to beat some city-crime...err cream cheese with the processor! Thwack! Bam! Pow! You're right Chuck, this isn't for the faint of heart! Do you know what time it is? Oskar and I know what time it is... Looks okay to me so far, time to set this all aside. Okay now we mix a bunch of sh*t together in a pot. How am I doing so far, Chuck? My cooking buddy. Not nearly as cool as Angus McNasty, but more than twice as lazy. Sturrin' the pot, sturrin' the pot...swingin' a chain, swingin' a chain... Remember to only use one envelope of gelatine, not all of them like I almost did! Annnnd pour! Time to put half a cup of that syrup to good use. Don't do thatttt....moron. He didn't go to UF... Because I don't have a blender in my posession right now, the Apricot slurry goes into this cup while I complete the next step. If any of you would not like to see a cup used in this fashon, I'm taking donations for a new blender. Its the season of giving you guys... Yes it blends! Apricot dust, don't breathe this. So far so good... Sooooo anyways, now that all sans 4 Apricot halves are in Oskar, its time to play "Will it blend?"!! Apricots helped Chuck pay for college. I helped make sure that something like that would never happen again. If you sex up Apricots, the flavor really comes out. Draining all the juice out of one of the Apricot cans. The juice will be saved for later. Eveybody meet Oskar. He single handedly helped kitchen appliances made before 1998 fail as a whole. Look at that appliance to bowl ratio! Step 1. Make crust.... Well that was easy, moving on! Awww c*ck, how do I do this? Maybe the fact that I'm wearing an FSU shirt is dumbing me down. Hey, I had to wear something that I wouldn't mind getting ruined! The tower of awesomeness that is the ingrediants for Apricot Cheesecake. You are all not worthy.
arrowfanman Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 LMAO! Great PTR Colin! The way you've "sexed up" the apricots has gotten me all hot and bothered! You know the one thing your cake is missing? Steak sauce. -Jahan
Scaparri Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 You lost like 150 cool points when I saw you wearing that FSU shirt, but then you went... and TOTALLY REDEEMED YOURSELF, and earned like 250 cool points with your caption. Well done. Great TR dude.
TheStig Posted December 16, 2007 Author Posted December 16, 2007 ^^You have no idea what would have ended up in that cheesecake should there have been Steak Sauce involved!!! ^Hahaha good movie... Story behind that shirt is that my cousin goes there, so we visited her. The shirt was a misprint as its off center a bit, so I got it for $2 as a throwaway shirt to wear around when I know its going to get messed up. This was one of those occasions! Glad you liked it!
orangecats2 Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 HILARIOUS! My favorite pic was of your helper. How does it taste? It looks good. I don't know about the premade crust though...
Meteornotes Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Colin is awesome. This was almost as good as Cooking With Joe. dt
TheStig Posted December 16, 2007 Author Posted December 16, 2007 ^I can die happy now knowing that, thanks Dave! ^^It actually came out REALLY good! Its not too strong of an apricot flavor, but its not bland by any means. I'll definitely make this again sometime in the future.
mcjaco Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 One might say you have really nice cans. Yeah. Nevermind.
cfc Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Docked one-half point for using a pre-made crust and no springpan. One-half point restored for innovative use of available materials (i.e., Oskar). Impressive--but you are not a Jedi yet. Glad you liked the recipe; actually, the first time I made it, I used a pre-made graham-cracker crust, too. My Mom once doubled the recipe and made it in a BIG Pyrex dish. It turned out well, but the crust was so thick (and delicious) that you practically had to chip it off with a chisel.
niiicolaaah Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 LMFAO!!! Where do I begin??? I think Oskar is the most hilarious appliance I've ever seen!
odene497 Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Haha this is awesome! And wow, I LOVE that appliance to bowl ratio.
