(Music) Nick Pitera / fake or real? You decide...

Some girls would pay a lot to have a voice like that.

Hey guys,

I found these 2 videos on youtube. This guy, Nick Pitera is singing 2 Disney songs, which he send to the "Give Us Your Voice Contest". Since he is a guy he never really had a chance.

Anyway, he is singing in really high ranges and it sounds not bad at all. I am sure some girls would pay a lot to have a voice like him. In the Aladdin video he is singing the male and the femal part of "A Whole New World". The first time I saw the video I thought he is faking the whole thing, but now I am pretty sure it is really his voice.

However, decide by yourself if he is good or not...

Deffinately his voice. When he sings the female part, even though it does sound like a female, it still has that little hint of his voice.

He's a lucky man to be able to sing like that. I'd be pretty suprised if he didn't start a singing career, I know I would.

Heh.........?

He has an incredible voice!! The vibrato for his voice is amazing... especially in falsetto. Never seen or heard anything quite like it. Why doesn't he have a record deal again...?

Il castrati ?

He can sing, that's the least you can say.

However, I find it a little bit weird. On the other hand, Mika seems to be very popular (at least in Europe, don't know whether he's already known in the US) and this guy is singing in the same ranges as Mika.

I definitely enjoy his normal male voice. He has some great talent there.

As for his female voice, I would hate to have to listen to that a lot. Mika's is far smoother to me, while his is kinda, unpleasant.

He should stick with his male voice. I could totally see him auditioning for American Idol and then when he breaks out the falsetto they are like "WTF."

My friend told me about this guy like a week ago. I think it's awesome. He's one of the few people with a thing called tenor something. I don't remember what it's called, but it's very rare and it allows people to be able to sing completely differently like that. It's an awesome talent, I wouldn't mind it.

Soren, it's definitely his voice, and he's got an amazing range, even for a countertenor! I thought it was lio-synch too, initially, but I compared the soundtrack to his version, and he backphrases a lot of the middle and towards the end, he begins to go a little sharp. Maybe only a quarter- or semi-tone off, but he still goes sharp. The original recording was calibrated and processed to eliminate vocal sharp/flatness, I think. Easy to do, really.

Thanks for the link! A great talent, to be sure!
