Sue
Since we were in the area on Saturday, we swung by LC to take a couple of pictures. Although we didn't see workers, we did hear a lot of hammering which I'm guessing was from them working on BD.
CTcoastin
Nice to see them working on BoulderDash. Let's hope it's running well this coming season!
LcHg5265
Nice to see them working on BoulderDash. Let's hope it's running well this coming season! As long as GCI doesn't drastically change any of the banking, i think we should see it running like new. Based on the work they did last season, it seems like it will take a few weeks for the new wood to set in, but after that, it will be smooth as glass. It may even climb back up in the rankings seeing how this season, it got rave reviews with only about half of the coaster retracked.
coastercrazed49
Great pictures Sue! Boulder Dash looks cool in the fall since you can see the drop. Hopefully it will be better then ever next season.

August 2007 was my first ride on Boulder Dash (the ACE event) and it kicked butt. Although the back seat definitely got painful, it's a front seat ride, anyway. HOLY CRAP! That thing is insane... now with the complete retracking, it's definitely going to be even better.
Scaparri
Wow, I've never actually seen a picture of the first drop on Boulder Dash. It's crazy how built into the mountain it really is. Thanks for the pics!
Jayjay719
Thanks Sue! I'm already looking forward to opening day. Since I'm getting my first Lake Compounce season pass I can go more next season. I'm only 45 minutes from the park.
coastakid
^ Hey! You live like 15 minutes from me! Well anyways, I hope Boulder Dash is running like new next year, with the rehabbed Wildcat trains, and new tracking. 2008 is looking great for The Lake. methos
GCI did great work to it last year, can't imagine that it would hurt the ride at all. I heard rumor of a trim break before the first drop can any one confirm or deny this?
LcHg5265
A magnetic trim is expected to be added to make the ride run at the speed it was designed to run at, which is 60 mph.
coastakid
^ No! I loved riding Boulder Dash after a rainstorm... it flys! Almost literally!
