ebl Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 I think I have that coaster ornament, too, Chuck. It does look familiar. So far this year, I haven't done much decorating. Only have the BigAss lights up this year. But your decorations are really cool. Your food looked good, too. Only I don't eat mushrooms... Eric
TheRapidsNerd Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Great decor Chuck! You're also the first person I've known to put the Disney Monorail around the tree instead of a train. Very cool. While I do not have the working rollercoaster ornament, I do have several of the Star Trek and Star Wars light up ship ornaments going back to 1994. Sadly, the way cool DS9 was crunched in an unfortunate closet accident. Tried to find the Snoopy Beagle Scouts ornament at Hallmark today in honor of former MOA Camp Snoopy, but no such luck. Definately a fun PTR. Glad you put it up. Edit: The festive decor reminded me of a couple Christmas's ago when my girlfriend made stockings for all our pets and put them on the cages. She made a couple for she and I too. Very sweet of her. Our other boys Piglet (hairless hamster in small purple cage) and Oreo (black and white teddy bear hamster in blue space cage), also got stockings. Marshall was her hairless rat and he got a big gift of a brand new cage and a stocking.
niiicolaaah Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 OMG!!! I TOTALLY HAVE THAT ORNAMENT!!!! (and the Enterprise... and a Klingon bird of prey....) ::EDIT::: It has a button on the bottom, right? "Shuttlecraft to Enterprise, happy holidays, live long and prosper". Oh please excuse me while I go shoot myself for being such a dork for remembering that!
cfc Posted December 7, 2007 Author Posted December 7, 2007 ^Ah, but do you have th Star Fleet Runabout with Worf's voice: "I wish you a most honorable holiday. Q'apla!"
pagemaster_b Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 You should do a regular Photo TR called "Cooking with Chuck". Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? The music, football on the TV, good food . . . the only thing you're missing is pics of all the beer (or other alcohol) being consumed. And I'm jealous of you for all the cool ordinaments you've got.
BeemerBoy Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Very cool report, Chuck. Sadly, our house is void of Christmas decorations anymore. Our cats simply won't allow it. A tree wouldn't last 5 minutes around Mia or Toby. And my monorail is still in storage somewhere in South Florida. So Merry Christmas, and thanks for letting me live vicariously through your living room.
cfc Posted December 7, 2007 Author Posted December 7, 2007 ^I've been pretty lucky with cats when it comes to Christmas trees, Scott. The late Joaquin, and the very much alive Angus McNasty, have been quite content to just sleep under them. ^^I wouldn't dream of intruding on any future "Cooking with Joe" TRs.
TheRapidsNerd Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Ah, but do you have th Star Fleet Runabout with Worf's voice: "I wish you a most honorable holiday. Q'apla!" Yes. Yes I do. And...I'm not ashamed. We have severe cool points and dignity ruptures on deck 32, and not even bypassing the EPS conduits will stop them. Containment shields failing Captain... Kidding aside, glad to see other ST/SW ship collectors. Chuck, you have a very cool and inspiring holiday set-up. Well done.
bobafett Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 I have leg lights from A Christmas Story also. I have a couple of strands of them that I put all over my house at Christmas. Everybody loves them and so do I. Your tree looks great, reminds me of my tree with all the different ornaments.
