ECZenith Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Hey there, I'm brand new to the site... my name's Sean, I'm from RI. I'll be providing tons of links to videos as I hit the parks this summer. The first is of Kingda Ka at SFGADV, the next will be Hydra in a couple weeks. I have a lot of footage that still needs to be edited. I know the quality isn't the best, but I hope you'll enjoy it anyways. http://sean.elitemrp.net/ -Sean C
Coasterlicious Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Nice video... for a second I thought we were gonna see a rollback..
phazan Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 ^ me too i heard someone say ''that one actually made it that time.'' so, how long was the line?
ECZenith Posted June 14, 2005 Author Posted June 14, 2005 During ERT at Coaster Celebration, I waited 50 minutes for the front seat. DURING ERT! It was supposed to open at 9 am, it opened at 930 after the first train finally made it over, with the public coming in a at 10 that gave 30 minutes of ERT. Don't get me wrong, I was very grateful for it. It's just a shame it had to break down so often.
socalMAN123 Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Nice video! I was puzzled to, how often do rollbacks happen on KK? Anyway, looks like a great ride, despise the part about breaking down all the time, and if it's really worth it to make a trip out there to hit some other parks and KK. ---Brent 8)
ECZenith Posted June 14, 2005 Author Posted June 14, 2005 The ride typically rolls back only in the morning while they are testing, unlike Dragster, which I saw rolling back with park guests quite frequently. After 4 rollbacks between 9:15 and 9:30 am, I never saw it rollback throughout the day, even after it went down for repairs. It's going to be down for at least a couple weeks, but it's definately worth a visit, especially if you're into Intamin coasters as much as I am. There's a ton of parks within a few hours drive worth hitting. just make sure you get a q-bot for Kingda Ka. Thanks for the kind words on the video.
Frade Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Hello Sean Welcome to Theme Park Review Your video is awesome, I enjoyed it allot. You will have fun in this site. Hope to see your Hydra video soon.
phazan Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 wow! only 50 minutes for front seat!?! thats pretty good. i remember people talking about the lines for ttd being like 4 hours or something. so does it feel good to say you have been on the tallest and faster roller coaster in the world? 8)
Coasterlicious Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 wow! only 50 minutes for front seat!?! thats pretty good. i remember people talking about the lines for ttd being like 4 hours or something. so does it feel good to say you have been on the tallest and faster roller coaster in the world? When i was at CP , Dragster was a 4 1/2 hour wait, and the line was so long that it was in the midway way, way down. I didnt even bother to get in it.., however that day Dragster ran for about 5 hours straight with no rollbacks, or break downs.... but then in the evening it started launching slow and they couldnt get it over the crest at all.. so they just closed it..
ECZenith Posted June 15, 2005 Author Posted June 15, 2005 Yeah, it was 50 minutes during the exclusive ride time event But absolutely INSANE later on in the day. A few people said the line was between 6 and 7 hours at around 2pm!! If you're familiar with the process, when a ride breaks down a at six flags, they give you a green slip to return later when the ride was open. So many people had these green passes (which uses the fastlane entrance) that even the fastlane line was about an hour and a half after your actual q-bot time. And this was at 10 pm! When the hell could they close the thing?! When I was at Cedar Point last year, I waited about 2 hours between getting in line and the front seat of Dragster. It's sad that I consider myself lucky in that situation!
ddaver177 Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 I only waited an hour for Dragster last summer. Also I got on MF in 1 1/2 hours.
Robbie Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 (edited) I loved the video but the numerous comments made by people were rather annoying, I heard OH MY GOD!! like 50 times Edited September 27, 2010 by mcjaco
ECZenith Posted June 17, 2005 Author Posted June 17, 2005 I was hoping to keep all the launch/coaster noises but I still caught the comments from the exit bridge and observation areas. I'll have to go later this year when the shock value goes down for some more footage. (need more angles anyway) I agree the OH MY GOD'S are irritating. I made a video with Top Thrill Dragster, Storm Runner and the Kingda Ka footage you just saw along to the song by the band Orgy - Suckerface. If anyone wants I can get it online, but I just made it as a personal project figuring not many people will appreciate the heavy metal.
arrow Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 Nice video of an amazing coaster. Next year I normaly go to SFGA, I hope that he'll be repaired by then
Hattuchili Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 Hey man, nice video, and good job. Welcome on the boards. --Sören
coasters 4 me Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 Great video. I really like the sound of the cable going. There were a few times i thought it would make it up the top hat.
ECZenith Posted June 18, 2005 Author Posted June 18, 2005 My Storm Runner/Dragster/Ka video shows Dragster's launch mechanisms up close but there is also music in the video. I will get it posted sometime in the week to come. That cable just screams as it launches the train. THE POWER!!!!
