Canadmos Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Downloading now, thanks! I have a thing against this park, lol. I spent threee months in Denver during the winter and drove past it so many times while it was closed. I was one week too late getting to Denver before it closed for the season. Same with Lakeside, I drove past that little park alot. I wish I could have ridden Cyclone.
Twister II Posted June 11, 2005 Author Posted June 11, 2005 They have an operation calander on the website.
kenshinmac Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 That was a hell of a shakey cam... Otherwise the only thing I would say is be more conservative with the transitions. They shouldn't be so noticable. I hadn't even realized they put that slingshot ride in... I'm a bit disappointed. I was hoping that space would be used for a flat ride next year or so. We are really in need of some new flat rides. Oh and a new coaster wouldn't go astray. Overall review. Great first effort. Little work on the camera work to smooth things out (on rides is understandable but off rides it shook a bit too much). And just tone down the pretty transition usage. Good job though.
Jordan Shankman Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Do you take any medication for your Turrets? Juuuuust kidding dude, but seriously...that was shaky as hell. Try ummm....holding the cam still next time. Or something.
Twister II Posted June 11, 2005 Author Posted June 11, 2005 Yeah, I agree, the cam was very shakey. But really TwisterII isn't smooth at all! When I was there, I just wanted to film, and go ride, and go home. That was it. Next time I'll be more patient.
PhishyBrewer Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Nice video. Can't believe the operator stands so close to the gondla on Sling Shoot. Can't watch it twice, my wife is annoyed by the Hamster song.
Immelmann04 Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Yeah the camera was pretty shaky Sorta held it really low, couldn't really see over the seat in front of you
DenDen Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 On a technical aspect, lot's of skipped frames in the video. Next time, try to capture in a smaller size. (480x360, 320x240)
Twister II Posted June 11, 2005 Author Posted June 11, 2005 Well I use Winamp for my media player. I never play it in normal size, thats when the frames skip. I usually play in half size.
coaster1 Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 Seems like it was filmed in 15fps, not the standard 29.998fps that is normal quality to us. Then the encoder tried to speed it up to 29.998 or 30fps and that's why it's jumpy. Made me kinda sick.
Twister II Posted June 12, 2005 Author Posted June 12, 2005 Well I took a lot of footage that day. And Im working on putting together another video, or more of my "not-so-as-shakey-clips" video. 8) Also the clips are synced much better with the new song i'll be using.
SharkTums Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 Ok...comments... 1. Overall, a very good effort for a first timer 2. Your shots were framed very well for the most part (no taking footage from like behind trees and stuff) 3. NO MORE WIPES AND FADES...seriously, how often are you watching tv and see star wipes and fades. I think someone just said it in another thread too..."just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should" 4. I don't know how you're compressing, but it's really really choppy. 5. I can't believe how brutal that Zamperla flyer looks! Elissa "Plus you get points for using a rodent related song!" Alvey
socalMAN123 Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 Well, I can't really say anything, I haven't made a real video in my life, but I do have some tips. The transitions were very good in some parts, but overall, they were pretty bad. If you weren't shaking the camera so much, I would have liked it A LOT better. Anyways, nice video! Hope to see more from you! ---Brent 8)
Twister II Posted June 13, 2005 Author Posted June 13, 2005 Here is IMO, a better version of the video, just, different editing and different song. Its still a lil shakey Still Wating - http://video.freevideoblog.com/Player.aspx?fileid=1EEF7F09-398E-4D13-8DFD-C05B3756DB95
