ddaver177 Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 I have been to Kennywood 2 times so far. I know that it is not the best park, but boy I think this park is right up there with all the other major ones. First it has the new millenium coaster in Phantom's Revenge. Also it has the wooden rollercoasters, Thunderbolt, Jackrabbit, and the Racers. All historical landmarks. Throw in some good thrill rides like Volcano and Aero 360. Now thats a park. I am just trying to say is give this park respect and attention.
TwistedTrack Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 thanks for making this post! i was thinking about maybe going to kennywood this summer or some other time.
maliboomer Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Kennywood, to me, looks like a regional park. I mean it's nice and all, but not all together too special. Phantom's Revenge seems like is a great coaster and but not enough to make this park a detour, just worth going to Kennywood if its on route. NOTE TO STUPID PEOPLE I haven't been there! SO REALLY it's quite IDK.
CoasterFanatic Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 ^ Post of the Year  Question for Maliboomer: "Have you ever been to Kennywood?"
maliboomer Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 ^ I thought I made it quite clear in my post I hadn't. Oh well I'll edit it and make it easier.
Jeezus Juice Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 ^ I think what he meant is you are WAY underestimating one of the top 5 parks in the country there Boom. Almost like calling Knoebels a stupid carnival in the woods. Forget what you know about Morgan Hypers, PR is probably one of the most unique/only terrain hypers your gonna find anywhere. And Jack Rabbit has what I consider the sweetest/most insane moment of airtime on any coaster anywhere! Add up the flats and darkrides that are only found at Kennywood and you'll see why most of us hold it in such high reguard. ...or you can just order my DVD this year and see for yourself!! -Jeezus "Plug" Juice
Meteornotes Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Kennywood is one of the greatest parks in the country. It's clean, has a great ride collection, excellent operations, and the fries kick ass! Seriously, it is worth visiting if you've never been there... dt
CoasterCrazy Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Kennywood was one of the parks that I hit on my road trip. I like Kennywood because like Dave said they have a great ride collection and if you ever go there you HAVE to try there fries.
CoasterFanatic Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 Like Jeezus Juice stated, I think you are just underestimating the park. I don't normally "call people out", but I really don't want someone who was scanning the boards to cancel a planned trip there, because it is merely a "regional park". While Kennywood IS a regional park for the general public, it is one of the most sought "destinations" for enthusiasts. // I may call someone out, but I will never call them "stupid". Now ... time to play nice and get to the subject at hand.
Coasters 4 ever Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 Forget what you know about Morgan Hypers, PR is probably one of the most unique/only terrain hypers your gonna find anywhere. -Jeezus "Plug" Juice Phantom's Revenge is an Arrow, not a Morgan.
SharkTums Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 ^Actually it's mostly a Morgan now! I believe that only the lifthill, first drop, half of second drop are all that's left of the arrowness. Elissa "kennywood is cool...they have an Intamin drop tower and Jack Rabbit!" Alvey
ddaver177 Posted June 12, 2005 Author Posted June 12, 2005 I forgot to mention the fries on my initial post. The cheese fries at the potatoe patch are ausome.
CoasterCrazy Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 Elissa "kennywood is cool...they have an Intamin drop tower and Jack Rabbit!" Alvey I wish they didn't have seat belts on the Jack Rabbit, the airtime on the double dip would have been a lot better without them.
Jeezus Juice Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 ^Are you kidding?! You wouldn't even be in the train anymore without the seat belt. Isn't it good enough without a lap bar?
Mind Eraser Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 I've ridden Jack Rabbit before and after the seatbelts were installed, and they don't make a bit of difference. You're still ejected off the seat. -kip-
